Ibanez SR Premium/Prestige questions...

Hey guys,

I love the way the Ibanez feels. I wouldn't mind paying 1200.00 for the premium, but I want my next bass to be a six string....

I don't know why they don't make the sr1200 or sr1400 line in six. However, I don't think 2k is a good price for the prestige...for that money I want something more boutique than an Ibanez.

My question....is there anything out there with the fast-action, small neck feel of the Ibanez SR line for about 1200 that also offers a six string?

Any help would be great.

You're so silly trying to buy new! You can get SR3006E (old model prestige) from the 2000's for around $700-900 last I looked. Median price was $800 here on TB. I almost bought a lot of them but kept holding out...

Hey Danimal, that really helps. I appreciate your help.

While reading another post on here, I see that some people prefer the Peavey Cirrus to the Ibanez SR. Have you had any experience with the Cirrus? Does it feel like the Ibanez at all?

Also one of my friends sent me some random link to a shop called "Bass Mods" have you ever heard of or seen this before?

What's your impression? Thanks for all your help so far. We are gonna make a decision on this really soon.

I've played the Peaveys, I personally don't like them compared to the SRs, mainly because of size differences. I would say if you can play one before you buy, do it. Maybe you'll like it more.

One thing you can do, if you wanna try out one of those SRs from GC, is to go to the one closest one to you, put the money down on it and have them transfer it to that store and if you don't like it, you can return it. I did that with my 3005 so I could get it here and make a decision with it in my hands.

As for that Bass Mods bass, I'm not familiar, I'd say play it first, it Looks pretty big, but the chambered body would cut down on weight, and it'll be a sustain monster. Either way, play it make sure it's comfortable. Hope that helps!
