Ibanez SR400 - worth it?

I have a 1990's SR-400 and its fabulous. You can get a wider tonal range out of that instrument than any other instrument I've played. I find the SR-400's with active bass, mid and treble are best. I haven't enjoyed playing the ones that have only bass and treble controls. Doesn't cut it.

I actually ordered their circuit and pups for a custom instrument I built a while back. I highly recommend this bass if it has the bass, mid and treble EQ section.

Yes, it's the natural wood color, and it has 3 pickups, and four tone knobs.

I say yes it's a decent bass to gig with. My main bass is a sr500, but I've used my cheap gsr200 until I got the 500. Somebody wrote somewhere that they'd be embarrassed bring a gsr200 even as a backup to a gig. Gear snobs. The 400 is a nice bass.

Thanks for all of this info!
We're at a new place regularly now that an SRXEX2 works well at so a SR400 with case was found for $250 and this thread helped me click the "PLACE YOUR ORDER" tab. The case looks very much like a Peavey Foundation case.

What is the battery life on these?

PS: The EX2 did get the flimsy battery connector changed(the original connector was worn out) to a hard plastic on. That required cutting some of the inside battery compartment out to make it fit.
