Seeing a simple "Band Name" logo after that has no effect on me whatsoever.

The intrinsic value of the iconic stature of any given band/artist’s art or logo really depends on whether you listen to them, and if their music has affected or spoken to you. One’s age may come into play as an influence, but it shouldn’t really.

There’s plenty of bands that have been mentioned that theoretically should be the ‘soundtrack of my youth’(or some such silly notion)that I actually couldn’t care less about, then or now. Yet there are later bands who did hit a nerve with me, and their representative artwork, especially if it nails the essence of what that band is/was all about, can evoke the emotions or vibe that the band brings out in the first place. That’s what makes a ‘logo’ iconic to me, otherwise it’s just an advertising shingle, a shallow brand, like golden arches.

Ultimately, like so many other threads of this ilk, this has ended up being just a popularity contest. Then there’s plenty of artists that mean something to me that never bothered with anything like a logo. Certain album cover art imagery might have been used in advertising, but that’s about it.
