Idea for a practice 'travel' bass - comments & suggestions...

I have both the Shredneck and the Basstar - I bought them to bring with me on business trips and practice in the hotel.

I thought the shredneck would be good to just practice fingering exercises - I was wrong.
At my level of experience, I really need to hear the attack - just plunking my fingers down on a short piece of neck didn't really do much for me. The Basstar is still a bit big (I have a case just for it; Southwest airlines lets me bring it onto the plan and put it in the large overhead bins), and not the highest quality bass at all - but it let's be get quality practice in the hotel while I'm on the road.

I think I would look a bit of a tool carrying that around in a train/playing in the car whilst waiting at a bus stop whilst plugged in to headphones!

what gives you the idea that we bass players dont look a bit like a tool anyway?
on a serious note you dont have to plug in headphones on a bus! you actually would be a serious tool to rig up right there but you can when you want to like in a hotel room or anything
