Ideas for transporting cables, etc

I use one of these for my amp, cables, wireless transmitter, mics, zoom, flip,adapters, etc. It won't fit all of a band's cables, but it's pretty roomy and has a bunch of pockets.

Don't forget to check local Goodwill for small suitcases and other handy containers - Ebay also can be a good source.

Another here using rolling carry on type suit cases. I got two smaller ones, one has about 30 xlr cables from 3 ft to 50 ft, then inside of that is an old tool pouch made for the forks of a motorcycle has all my small adapters in it. The second case holds the speaker cables for the monitors, 2 snakes, one 8 x 25ft fantail both sides, the other 8 x 35ft box and fantail. Zippered compartment holds 2 DI's. Mics go in a case like monkey posted with foam I cut to hold them all.

I'm a big fan of picking up samsonite luggage cases. There are a few smaller sized ones meant as makeup cases I believe. I can fit all my gig stuff in one easily. When I was sound engineering I used to pack one full of cable adapters (XLR-TRS, Banana-speakon) and a bunch of fuses, nuts, bolts, 1/4" and XLR plugs, and a soldering rig.

For a less Mod approach you can usually pickup an "electricians toolbox" which has little vinyl pockets for pliers, solder, cutters etc. Not that any real electrician would use one. They are more meant for electronic hobbyists. But they can be found in various colors at Lowes, Osh, Home Depot etc.

We use a small suitcase, the kind with wheels and extending handle. Lots of zip-up pockets for adapters, DI’s etc

Seconded. There are always plenty of these things available cheap at my local thrift shop.
