Identify these strings?

I bought a bass here on TB a few years ago with strings pictured. Anyone know what brand they are? Can’t say I’ve ever seen that deep blue silk before.

Are they flats? Do they have colored ball ends?

Rounds, no color on the ball – just the usual gold-colored brass (?).

Do they have the blue silk at the ball end as well? Is the B string tapered at the ball end?

LOL sorry for misunderstanding – I’ve never seen strings with silk at the ball end!

So, no silk at the ball end, and the B is taper-core at the ball end.

I do have an answer for you... Those are Sadowsky Blue Label Nickels.

You are correct, sir! I found a Youtube video to confirm. I'm happy to see they are nickel, which is what I want.

Thanks Michael!

The thomastik players as well as whoever uses the gold optimas are definitely on a different level. I really hate paying more than about 30$ for a set of strings. For 5 basses it’s 150$. I’m glad that I have preamp pedals that do a great job of adding brightness as needed so I don’t burn through strings very fast. It gets expensive fast.

What bass is that wearin' those Sadowsky strings, Wayne? I don't recognize that one from your Tobias stash. (reminds me a lil-bit of a MusicYo Toby Pro V I had... years ago) 😉

"Tobias stash?" Does three qualify as a stash? LOL

It’s the zebrawood Killer B I bought from @scubaduba a couple years ago. Judging from his “acquisition” post (linked below), the strings were on it when he bought it almost three years ago, and who knows how long they’d been on it before then. So, no telling how old the strings are.

Well, my current stash of Tobias product line is just that one weird-o-rama black Basic 4 I posted in the thread about last year. 😄 Can't seem to get enough of it, but I find myself missing that old Growler 5 more and more. Ol' scuba has an eye for the cool stuff too. 😎
