My band has been discussing the possibility of getting IEMs and none of us have a clue about the things, so I figured I would turn to TB for some help. I should also mention, I do not run the P.A, my guitarist does, so I don't know enough about it to give good details.
I was looking at the Carvin system and it seems pretty good but I am wondering how I can go about getting individual mixes for each band member. We are a 3 piece, the P.A. (Yorkville m1600 powered mixer) can do 2 mixes I think, but only 1 monitor mix, the other is the main.
Now as I understand it, if I ran one transmitter we could all run receivers off of it but we would get the exact same mix. So I know we will all need our own individual transmitter, but how do I go about getting a personal mix to each transmitter?
Is it going to be possible to get 3 separate mixes or will we need to upgrade the powered mixer to something that can handle 3 individual monitor mixes? Does that exist?
What other options should I be looking at/How can I do this easily?
Thanks in advance for the help!
We really need an IEM sticky...
