no, my collection will be better than yours.... give me some time  :)

Really though, The conklins are there so I have a bolt on and through neck version of each. my 8s would be cooler than yours ;) plus, you dont have a ritter (yet) or the upright 6

but by then, you don't wanna even _THINK_ about where my collection will be :D

Hmm. I'd never play more than a few.

1,2. My two Hanewinckels :)

3. Hanewinckel 6-string bolt-on with padauk/maple neck, ebony (maybe wenge?) fretboard, mahogany body, cocobolo top. Pickup locations like my fretless. Or, in a perfect world, Wal pickups and electronics.

3. Warr 8-string

Not basses, but: my Ovation Legend, and something like my PRS but with an oil-finished padauk/maple neck with V-contour to match the Ovation's. Hey, the tuning I use goes down into the baritone range at least! :D

There are lots I'd like to have available (Ric, MM5, etc), and/or check out (F BN-6, Basslab STD or L-Bow, etc). But I feel bad enough that I don't play my Stick much anymore.

I have two basses that are vastly different. If were collecting I would have

1 Precision
2 Jazz
3 Clevinger
4 Wal Midi 4
5 Ashbory MkII
6 Zon Hyper bass with a lightwave
7 Warr 10 string
8 One of them Ken Lawrence semi acoustics
9 Conklin Sidewinder 8 tuned to std and piccolo
10 U bass

I think that gives me everything

1. MTD 535
2. Elrick Bolt-On 5
3. Zon Sonus fretless 5
4. Pedulla Pentabuzz
5. Rob Allen fretless 5
6. Modulus Q6
7. Warwick Streamer Stage II (5-string)
8. Wal Mach I (4-string)
9. '62 Fender Jazz Reissue or Lakland Joe Osborn
10. Ken Lawrence Brase or Benavente Singlecut or R Bass Singlecut

There are just too many to choose from. Granted, I've only tried about half of the basses on my list, but it's a pretty nice wishlist.

I'll try 2 ways:

Collection from just one builder? MTD. Amazing variety of woods and finishes!

10 of any? Hmmm....

Sadowsky ultra-vintage 5-string P-bass. (You didn't say the bass had to actually exist...)
Music Man Sabre 5 (ditto!)
MTD 535
Fender RB5
Fender Custom Shop Precision 5
Modulus Quantum 5
Warwick Streamer Stage I 5
Darren Huff Z-series 5
Fodera Emperor 5 (doublecut)
Ken Smith 5, exhibition grade, with "wide 5" spacing

I still don't consider myself a collector... I play everything I own. What would I get that I don't have? Maybe nothing, I'm always curious about basses I haven't touched but I'm extremely happy with what I have.
