The following are my top 10 basses. Of my wishlist, I currently own Zero of them (sniff). The list is in no particular order.

Let me add that unlike TolerancE] I actually own all these basses except one (guess which!) and number 10. is presently an 8 string (doubled) rather than a 10 like I really want. Think you know what brands these are? What brands/models would you pick?

I would collect basses that had guitar counterparts ,like the Gibson EBO and the SG, or Flying V or Explorer. I remember someone had out a line of guitars that had a bass, baritone, and guitar that all looked the same. I think those would look cool hanging on the wall.

7 is enough for me , I've had more and they never got used . If I can't get it out of the case a few times a month then I have too many . 7 is indeed all I can handle . Well that + 10 guitars

I was thinking about doing just about the same thing that bassnenj wrote...(I'm with you man)

Here is my take and I'm not going to mention manufactures of basses (but you can guess easy enough).

This is pretty similar and close to what I have now.

1 - 70 style J bass Maple neck (not to light)

1 5 sting J bass in Maple neck (not to light)

1 modern 5 sting graphite neck 35" scale modern piano monster

1 5 sting aggressive 5 sting with ebony board and with 2 humbukers.

1 5 sting aggressive 5 sting with ebony board and with 1 humbuker and 1 single coil

1 classic syle 4 sweat spot humbuker maple board ash body.

1 - 5 string graphite neck J alder body.
