If You Could Only Have One Pedal

Those two answers are wrong because you can cheat and get those as rack units :)

THEN, you can get your only pedal, which could probably be an Eventide H9 at that point, or maybe an SFX 42, or a VoltThrower, or maybe A Wonderlove? Maybe a Grand Tarkin, or a Rusty box? Oh, a Transbost for sure, or maybe...

I suck at this question.

I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure that the AX8 is only going to come in pedal form, which is why I picked it.

Would it go well in front of an Ampeg SVT 7Pro? Can it do distortion really well?

It has two channels so the boost channel could be the distortion channel but I never cared for natural distortion with a solid state amp I prefer to use pedals. I put it in front of a SVT and it was glorious. There are many cheaper options like the Swell pedals and one of my favorites the BK Butler Blue Tubes both of these pedals take real tubes and sound awesome.

Ben stopped making the rack Meatsmoke Pre those folks who have them are lucky.

Oh yeah!! Both the Swell and BK butler pedals are great(I wouldn't call Swell/Myco cheap though the used BK's are cheap though!)... *but* I had a recent revelation in the form of the Darkglass VMT

I used just these 2 pedals last night and it was glorious!! To me, the VMT sounds like combo of the Swell Bpro/Blue Tube touch responsive drive with the Fulltone OCD's bite/clank(depending on where the "era" knob is set), really everything I could want in a overdrive!!

I am awaiting the deluxe version, hopefully ill get it this week or next(its on a slow boat LOL)... so if I had to pick just one, the VMTD would be it and once I get it the regular VMT will be made as my solo/lead sound probably!!

I really wish that there was an ultra deluxe version with 2 channels like the Swell/Myco but I doubt that'll ever happen!! Anyways, I swapped tubes in the Swell and BK Butler pedals just for experimental reasons and it was always night and day, but I don't wanna worry about tubes anymore so I'm glad I made the switch, and as badass as the Meatsmoke sounds I probably wont get one just for that whole maintenance/fragility aspect of old school tubes

I really regret not giving the VMT enough time it was during a period when I was turning over pedals at a record clip.

I hear ya! I sold off most of my pedals, and there are a few I wish I would've kept for reference since over half of my setup are Source Audio pedals

Mainly I regret selling my Fuzzrocious Greystache and my DOD FX25, neither tone have I achieved with my current setup...
My only pedal from way back that I still have is the DOD FX91 Bass Overdrive, I'm not using it cuz its acting very strange, that thing is one of my Favorites, but I think the VMT is much closer to the sound in my head

I just cut up some scrap plywood , used leftover pl premium for the legs, spray paint..

Really, Ijust got tired of lugging around my PT Pro(that flight case is heavy);)
WP_20151101_19_13_47_Pro.jpg
and the pt pro is all ate up because I used bike chain links(not Velcro) so I had to drill in it alot, but the industrial strength Velcro is holding up like a champ!
