This is the situation I'm in now, to choose two. I think I'll get complete opposites, Ibanez BTB776PB (wants it) and Sting/'51 Precision (I has it). That covers both ends of the modern to old-school spectrum except it goes a little above $1K.

I am leaning towards a fretted peavey foundation, a fretless foundation, and $600 worth of rum and pineapple juice.
