Thanks for the advice and suggestions. I'm going to take Ibanez up on there offer to replace the body as long as they fix the preamp issue while they are at it.

Did the Ibanez guy send you pics of the body and what the "dents" they're referring to look like?

no, he didn't have access to the actual body, it was somewhere in the warranty service area. He said the "dents" were actually low spots in the grain, not actual damage

The Schecter CV-5 is So much better than whatever you mentioned (which I had as a Studio 4) the CV pickups are amazing, and the neck is slightly wider the the Studio 5 and very fast. I have the rosewood maple/ash and it Is as heavy as an ash body usually is. Has anyone tried the Schecter CV-5 that was shown at NAMM this year?

what would you get, and why? Just curious more than anything.
For those that didn't see my other thread I've got an sr805 that has issues, I can either return it to sweetwater and have 600 dollars to spend there. Or I can send it to ibanez and have it fixed. Like to keep my options open.
What would you guys get in that price range? Not much in stock .

Throw in an extra 30 and get an esp ltd b-5e?

Maybe a power amp.. See if I can run my bass through the Sonic Spark pedal into a power amp, then into the two Berg CN112's.. Heard these pedals are fine as preamp - they certainly seem to have enough tone-shaping capabilities for what I need (in combination with the 3 band EQ on my EBMM Sterling)

But - to be honest ,not superhigh on the priority list

I've completely outgrown my pedal board and I need probably 3 more.
So for me it would be a new board, case, couple pedals if they had them(doubtful) and maybe a few wires and do dads.

If those replacement five stringers are your only choices, none of them. Either go for the repair or consider what 4 string options you have.
I have the Yamaha TRBX305 and also the Schecter Stiletto 5, I've owned several Ibanez SR300 4 string basses and I've owned the ESP Ltd. Those basses are not on the same level as the SR805. I personally wouldn't use the credit for basses that are compromises and can be bought cheaply used if you really wanted them. Heck, I know I got a great deal on my TRBX305 for $80 but truth be told, I would take the Ibanez over it anyday. The TRBX505 would probably be a fairer comparison. The Schecter is nice because of the tight B string being a 35" scale but still, it's not in the same class. I would probably compare the SR805 more to the Schecter Stiletto Studio V.

I actually bought my Schecter Deluxe V and TRBX305 at the same time a couple of months ago. The Deluxe is pretty much the same bass as the Extreme but doesn't have the fancy fretmarkers. I bought these two basses used for $230.

I just bought a Mustang recently. Very happy with it. I don't need any bass gear right now, so if I had $600 to spend I would probably buy a Rumble 210 cab ($350) to complement my 500 combo and a Mustang GT 40 guitar amp.
