If you had to choose one brand...

Probably Boss--I do use a Boss AW-3 with my bass, and I could get Boss pedals for Chorus & EQ I like--could be a bit of an issue for an octave up pedal--might have to use a harmonizer?
I'm not big on their volume pedals either.

but if only one--probably Boss
Although TC Electronics I could make work as well.

Tech 21 would do it for me, but I'm mostly a pre-amp and/or compression effects person. So Aguilar and/or MXR could work too. I guess I would have to hide my Diamond Compressor under the pedal board and tell evryone it was an extra power supply or power conditioner.

I have a mix of Visual Sound, EHX, Boss, Sonuus and Source Audio.

One Brand Board? Source Audio.

They make really good capable equipment. For example they just put a screenshot of their editor for their new EQ pedal on their site, it's a 10 band eq with all bands being able to be set anywhere from 20Hz to 20kHz, adjustable Q on each as well as the obvious cut/boost. That's incredible, the range of human hearing in a small pedalboard friendly enclosure.
I feel the same about their Synth and drive pedal. Just so deep.
I also have their Reflex Expression Pedal, produces up to 7 different control signals at once, at either a static set value, LFO or expression. Amazing customer response too.

Either Tech 21 or Darkglass.

You really gonna make me pick one? Seriously??

Sigh. OK, I've gotta go with Tech 21. Reasons:
  1. I've been using their pedals for close to three decades, starting with the BDDI of course
  2. I could use Tech 21 pedals in front of my Darkglass amplifier head that has onboard distortion ;)

Interesting responses.

Aguilar is up there in terms of super functional, HQ, and strong in each of the essential categories (unless you need delay/verb).

3Leaf if I'm synth/filter focused - bonus points if it includes his Pike Vulcan ODs.

Source Audio if I want a deep-dive, complex system that does absolutely anything and everything.

From the bigger companies, EQD and Dunlop are top of my list. If Dunlop includes Way Huge & MXR stuff, its a no-brainer...

I'm surprised not to see Aguilar more on here. Their stuff is always high quality.

If it has to be one particular brand for all my effects needs, then I would choose source audio. the one series of pedals will definitely cover all my effects need. especially since I can create my sounds with these pedals using source audio's neuro app. with that being said, I am thinking about purchasing a source audio gemini chorus.

My other choice would be either ehx or maxon. they have effects that I would like to try out on bass.

Here's what pedals I would get if I had to stick with only one brand.

Source audio: aftershock bass distortion, gemini chorus, mercury flanger, c4 synth

Ehx: hot wax, metal muff, bass clone, stereo electric mistress

Maxon: distortion master, stereo chorus, fl9 flanger

I had to look because I was fairly certain.

I'd be screwed :) I don't have a single pedal that shares a manufacturer.
