You'll get no argument from me. I love 'em. But based on the current state of the market for these amps and the stuff people are drooling over lately (DB750's, Thunderfunks, SVT's, micro heads), you just don't see the enthusiasm for SWR stuff that you used to. But the quality is why I recommend them, despite what seems to be a prevailing misperception that they are one dimensional amps.

Clean as the prom queen? Um, where? Just asking, because, well, never mind...

I have been playing the upright through an Acoustic USA 360. It works just fine for reproducing the sound for medium venues. For smaller venues, an Acoustic Image Ten2 is probably the way to go. I don't have one, but I would like one.

This depends on the input sensitivity of the power amp, along with the output of the tonebone, some power amps only need 0.75v swing to get full output, which isn't much int he scheme of things, can't find a full spec for the tone bone glancing at their site.

Just reading the title I was going to say Ampeg SVT-350, or whatever those craptastic transistor amps they put in tube amp headcases were. :)

After reading your first post, I'd say yeah, the Carvins give you a pretty blank slate on which to paint, and also offer lots of eq shaping to dial in problem room or boomy, feedbacky acoustic basses, etc.

I never considered my old Eden Navigator neutral one bit, but I WOULD consider it boring as all get.

I was researching your 470 and discovered its Acc. jack is an effects loop. Its a TRS type of jack that has both the preamp-send and poweramp-in in a single jack. So if you have any TRS cables, you could experiment to figure out which leg of this jack is the poweramp-in side, and then give it a quick try to find out if your Bassbone has enough output to drive your 470 power amp section to a loud enough volume level, or not...
