Like midrange frequencies? Need midrange? Ernie Ball is your answer. Especially the Cobalts. Too bright when brand new but amazing once broken in.

Dunlop Super Bright "stainless" steel bass strings. Had to put stainless in the description in case anyone gets confused. 
On 34" scale, I prefer medium. But I have used the light SS lo riders, and they were great too.
Hard to put a poll on this thread, there are too many choices.
For me personally it’s an easy choice - nickel DR Lo Riders. I’ve tried them on almost every bass I’ve ever owned and, on every single one of those basses, those strings sounded fantastic and lasted a really long time. I’m having an affair with Chromes right now (currently on three basses) but nickel Lo Riders are still my favorites.

I chose Batman because they have more *WHAM*, *POW*, and #$@%*!

Labella Deep Talking Bass flats. Extra light gauge.
I gradually progressed to lighter gauge strings because I find them easier to play. But I was always concerned that thinner gauge strings might not sound as deep and warm as fatter strings. In my opinion, that concern was unfounded. These sound thick and warm and punchy. I like the high end with these more than Chromes, which are my 2nd choice.

I refuse to put strings on my bass. Just because everyone else is doing it does that mean i have to? What if bass players were jumping off the rim of the Grand Canyon, does that mean i should as well? Y’all should at least try to be a bit less groupthinkie. I blame the internet.

Fodera SS rounds. The best all around string I've played in my entire life, and I've played a lot...seriously.
Flexible enough to do bendy stuff
Stiff enough to not feel spongy
Bright enough to cut through and do grindy tones
Not overly bright though to be piercing, even new out of the box
Very reactive to touch/finger placement/pickups selections. Growl can easily be had or can be subdued.
Takes EQ well and let's your specific bass shine through.
- Little on the expensive side, but they last pretty long. I usually get about 2 months on my main player give or take how many gigs we're doing.

Depends of the bass. Mi numero uno is a jazz. For that bass tapewound are my choice. I can put the tone control all the way up and sound bright but not overly bright or clancky, and with the tone control all the way down i get this vintage sound, not overly boomy, with the right amount of definition.
