I'm very happy with my little herd, but I'd probably expand if I won the lottery. I'll mention only those I would love to have, but won't buy in reality:

1. Dingwall Super J four with P/J pickups and drop tuner;
2. Lakland USA Hollowbody, lined fretless; and
3. MusicMan StingRay 5 HS, the anniversary model with mahogany tone block and no pickguard.

On the guitar front, I'd want a Gibson ES-335, Gibson Les Paul, and G&L Comanche. I'd need a nice Mesa amp too.

Well, I'd take a 1st class flight to LA, rent a car and go all the way up to San Luis Obispo to have the following MMs built:

Bongo 5 Hp, orange, orange swirl with rosewood neck
Bongo 5 Hp Fretless, orange, orange swirl with rosewood neck
Big Al 4 SSS, 3tone sunburst, matching headstock, shell, maple
SR4 Classic, flame maple
SR5 Classic, flame maple

I'd get a Wal 5er built for me.

Find an older Warwick Streamer Stage II 5

A cool, boutiquey 5er P bass like an AC or something. Or maybe just the perfect MIA Standard Fender P5. Probably have to go custom shop though since I'd want it to be surf green with a turtle shell guard.

I'd go to Fender CS and have them build me a Jazz, a P and a Tele to my liking.

1)Active Jazz Black/Black/Maple with modern P-neck (1.625) with black pearl blocks(Closet Classic, 70's spacing)
2)Passive Double P (one '62 CS middle, one Rio Gande Muy Grande at the bridge) in Shoreline Gold/Black/RW light relic with 1.75 nut and reverse headstock
3)Passive '72 Tele Bass with Double MudBuckers in Sherwood Green/Pearl with RW Tele neck with pearl blocks, heavy relic

Yes, Ive thought about this.

I would try and buy that Magnum P.I Wal out there on TB :ninja:

when that probably wouldn't work, I would go around playing as many boutique basses until I found the right one for me, and pay the builder loads of money to build me something brilliant.

then I'd get a custom shop Fender that looks like the Ventures Jazz basses they released, and put a P-bass neck on it.

I'd have someone custom make me a copy of my American Deluxe P with a Jazz pick up at the neck instead, just for when I need a smoother, warmer sound. Then maybe Id get a different kind of neck thru bass, 4 string like a Hanewinckel. Then a Spector NS5 or MTD 535, some 5 string.

If I really had $5M in the checking account, you know there's no way I'd stop at 3!! ;)

I'd have to invest in a nice, meaty fretless 6-string and maybe see what those Dingwall Z3s are all about. Oh, and a classy vintage hollowbody. I'd pretty much keep going until I qualified for the "50+ basses owned" club or the money ran out (probably the latter).
