1. vintage p-bass. pre cbs. i'd fly around and play several different ones.

2. vintage ric, again with the luxury of finding the best example that i can.

3. something completely custom. exotic woods(figured claro walnut or figured spalted maple...you get the idea) and hand rubbed oil finished. wood pickup covers and knobs. 4 string...active/passive option on the electronics.

this is just for basses....as for guitars, well i could think of more than 3...not to mention all the vintage and custom amps i'd get for guitar and bass. YUM.

Why would you put it that way? How I feel about your tone choice doesn't matter at all. I just found it surprising.

I can tell ... you are a man who knows what you like, and a modern-sounding bass is not a bass for the man who knows what you like.

Besides, all my Fenders are modern-sounding except one, and I don't play that one much. So it was just an empty and fallacious attempt at trying to make you like me for my tone.
