You said it. You hit the jackpot and all you get is some Fender P bass? Someone needs to set their standards higher! Hey I didn't win the lottery and I just bought a used Conklin 7 string! (love it by the way)

Nope. While I don't think I'd go the 20 or 40 grand for some symphony type upright, I'd definitely go for the Luis and Clark Carbon fiber upright bass. (13 grand!) Those are just too cool for words. As for bass guitars, i think my GAS would be more in the amp and cab department. I especially would like to find someone to build me some killer Neo cab out of carbon fiber or other super-light material to go with a couple of class D amps to reduce the schlep factor to a minimum. Yeah, would be some serious cash, but hey if you won the lottery, why not?

Speaking of winning the lottery, I actually saw a guy who did. There is a chain of discount stores here called "Big Lots" that sells a variety of closeouts and other other stuff cheap they find out there. So one day I go there and there is this Rolls Royce in the parking lot! And I mosey in and there's this little dude in there pushing a shopping cart. He's all dressed in white: White pants, white shirt, white shoes, white socks etc. Another guy shopping there takes me aside: "See that guy?" "He won the lottery!" and the little dude just went round the store filling his shopping cart to overflowing with all manner of miscellaneous crap. Yes, methinks the guy needed his standards raised too! Me, I'd head for the high-end bass shop!

With money being no option, and having no need for a full time job, I would go on a search to find the best 100+ year old fully carved upright, and the best feeling all original fender jazz or precision that i could find.

Then I would have a custom Fodera Imperial built to my specs.
