IK TONEX pedal

Did the update to the Tonex one last night, easy peasy. Maybe I missed it before, but there is a GK model in there now I worked on getting that setup with my more classic SVT tone. We'll see how this works out this weekend

I also need to add the the Zoom MS 60B does not play well with the Tonex One. It's not Tonex's fault, I have seen this issue crop up with a few other pedals where the Zoom introduces a high pitched whining sound. This was noticed when I gigged it a few weeks ago, luckily we had a really good sound man and he took care of it in the mix. Thinking it was a ground loop, I moved everything to battery since both the Zoom and Tonex can be powered by USB. It showed back up again, mostly on my modern channel. So, the Zoom is out of the picture with Tonex for me.

Solution: I already had a mini tuner and mini drive pedal, and that will be fully tested this weekend. I am sure it will be fine

Basic oneband vca compressor to tame peaks. I use it to compensate my other pedal boosts.

Just grabbed a Tonex One for my mini board.
Trying to get my head around what seems to be quite a convoluted software set up. This where I am at:

Downloaded Product manager registered product
Download Ampltube 5, Tonex, and Tonex Editor
Tonex is where you set up the routing to get sound coming out, but all the editing is done on the editor. Everytime you unplug the pedal, you have to go back to the tonex software and tell it the input and output is via the pedal.
Editor tells me I am not also logged into ToneNET, so I go online and do that also.
When I am playing with the pedal connected to the software there is a heap of output, everything is really bright. Once it is being power by a One spot, everything is more dull, and the output is less

Still getting the intermittent white noise blasts thru my amp while I try and audition amp models. Pretty sure I am only using free stuff, and I thought they were happening as I wasn't logged into ToneNET, but it's still happening.

As a HX Stomp user who found their way around HX Edit, even as an older, not tech savvy guy. This seems to be quite a challenge.

Any input appreciated.

It has been a very long time since I had my Tonex hooked up to the computer, so I am probably not the best person to help. The only advice I can think of would be to make sure you are signed in to ToneNET online and in the app before you connect the pedal. Make sure it is in the product manager as well and authorized. It is a cumbersome process to be sure, and I’m glad I found sounds that I really like, so I don’t feel compelled to go through it again. But there IS an update I should probably do.

I'm loving my Tonex One, but IK's software is a complete f'in ball-ache. If only the tone models were grouped in a somewhat logical order it wouldn't be too bad. It's really easy to blast yourself with white noise because there's no way of telling which presets are free or premium.

I can't help with the output problem, but you can try uploading your own cabsim. I'm severely disappointed with the amount of bass-specific presets compared to those for guitar, and the quality of bass captures are extremely average. I often find that turning off the "matched" cabsim and uploading my own increases the output significantly. I mean, I refuse to believe that IK recorded all their bass captures with a headset mic 20 feet away from a cab covered in thick blankets, but if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck etc....

Signing in to ToneNET eventually fixed it, but I had been signed in a while before it synced to itself and eventually stopped.

The only thing I came up with regarding the levels was that both the global and patch settings didn't stay as they were when connected to the software. I reset the levels manually on the pedal once it was disconnected and it is better and useable. The amp sims I have are good, but I will go back in soon and have another go. I just needed to reset after feeling like I wasted a day sorting through it all. There is so much potential here, but the UI is very frustrating.
