Bass has always been my main instrument.

Really, it could have been worse. There was some cool stuff in there, the biggest problem was his timing. I guess I don't have a problem with someone "pushing the envelope", it's how you find out what you like and what you don't. It actually would have been better without the backing track. Was it good? Absolutely not. But I'm not one to pick on anyone else's playing ability, it's not like I'm a world class bassist. I am better than that, I think, though.
Look at the clothes and whatnot. Just a kid. He's passionate about playing, though, so I'm willing to bet over time he'll be okay as long as he stays with it.
But yeah, less money on stuff and more money on lessons probably would help this dude out. Better gear does not equal more ability.

Given the cocky attitude, I would doubt he's going to get any better because he's already a rock god.
