So I've missed over a month of gigging because I broke my right pinky(finger/pick hand), and the cast came off early this week. My gig back tonight was going awesome, packed house, girls everywhere, our new QSC KW181 18-inch subs sounded killer..then 3rd set I notice my right middle finger is tingling...look down, and have a nice juicy blood blister.

Haven't had a callus or blister since I started playing 7 years ago. So had to rip it up alternating between Jamerson style, and trying to use my pick on as many songs as I could, even though I'm not great with a pick, usually just on chug-chug Blink 182-type songs. Caused a few mistakes, but still great times. Just a dumb post-gig rant report! :hyper:

  2. Couldn't you have kept gigging with it on? Unless it was painful it sounds quite do-able to me...

ya, why rip it off, sounds more painful then leaving it on

No, I didn't rip anything off...I left the blister alone..I meant rip it up in the way of rock out haha.

haha, i followed you on that. Good job on the mini-macgyver! Always feels good to stand strong in the face of annoying stuff like that while playing

  7. Take a pin & lance it to drain the fluid. Next, cover your fingertip in some superglue (assuming you carry some in your case for such an occasion). And WAIT FOR IT TO DRY.

There might be some bruising underneath the blister, but at least you can play through it. I've played entire gigs with this setup & it works really well.

Should have just let the blood drip from the strings, and the ripped flesh fly.....!

I ended up bandaging it, and leaving it alone for a week. I thought it was all dried up...played a gig this past Saturday, and it felt fine. After the gig, I decided for some reason to take a little bite from it...well it wasn't dried like I thought and it bled out.

Had practice on Sunday and couldn't use that finger, was really painful...so now as of today it has Krazy Glue on it, and feels close to brand new:D Had to do something, have another gig on Thursday.

I know! I that case I then would have truly had "the best bass for metal."
