I'm getting suspicious...

Does anyone else get the feeling that Gmail accounts are 'seeded' with spam by Google? All the spam I seem to get is exactly the same, and I even opened a new account and haven't used it at all, and it gets spam just like my main account...

...Or maybe I'm just making up conspiracies, who knows?

No, I don't think that, I don't get ANY spam in my gmail adress, I'm strictly using it for personal 1 on 1 mail with people I know, I have as of yet not received any real amount of spam on it.

My hotmail however...

No spam in my Gmail. Maybe you inadvertently laid the "seeds" yourself? Or someone sold you out?

I opened 2 gmail accounts - 1 for a listserv group and 1 for a couple of random other uses. I have received zero spam in both.

Yeah...I'm having the same problem....like every monday I get like 30 spam emails...then it decreases as the week goes by...I'm switching back to yahoo...at least their filtering works...

i usually get maybe one or two pieces a day, which is tolerable, considering i get double-digits worth of spam on my mail.com account

Frankly, the only thing I use my gmail for is talkbass.

i signed up for Google Calendar using my hotmail address. now i am getting lambasted with spam to my hotmail.

I get alot of spam but it all gets filtered into the spam inbox. I figure its from posting my email address on some sites without doing the .AT. thing, ya know...

Yep, I was thinking the same thing. Nasty little worm or virus quietly at work in the background.
