I'm Reporting Reverb.com to BBB

No, no they're not. The customer is frequently extremely wrong. That saying originated in sales and just meant that if the customer wants to buy something don't talk them out of it, even if what they want seems stupid to the salesman. It's not "I'm buying something so I can be completely unreasonable but I'm still correct! no matter what"

As an example of how a customer might be wrong: the customer could fire off half-cocked and try to trash a business before ever contacting them (because the CS is done via chat instead of a phone number boo hoo), harass the CEO on social media (before actually contacting CS), receive amazing customer service and get a refund even though the mistake was with another company and there is no proof of what the customer claims, and then still go on a forum and without even acknowledging how wrong they were shift smoothly into accusing another company that's making $61,000,000,000 shipping 5,500,000,000 packages PER YEAR of trying to commit fraud and screw them out of $20 and bragging about what a hero they are for standing up to the man.

That's one way a customer could be pretty wrong on every level.

What's your problem? Guess I can add you to my ignore list, lol.

You tried to trash a company that did nothing wrong without even trying to resolve an issue that wasn't their fault. Pretty crappy thing to do honestly.

A company that upcharges on upcharged shipping charges? Sounds criminal to me. Do you work for Reverb? Believe me I'll be watching the next item I sell on there like a hawk for any extra shipping charges. I'm not going to take **** from them, let alone you.

Dude, you’ve still failed at establishing any credibility on this specific issue. I and others asked you some specific questions and you didn’t address any of them.

Sorry by I’m not persuaded. *shrug*

Sure I did. No idea what more information you're trying to ask of me. If you'd like to check out my Ebay profile it's jambass74. 100 percent positive feedback with almost 1000 feedback ratings. Been shipping stuff for years now. I know my UPS/FedEx/USPS shipping rates pretty well by now.

@PolkaHero
Do you think The United Parcel Service intentionally tried to steal from you in this situation?

I think UPS made a big mistake likely a one time error maybe due to the increased traffic during the holiday season, but Reverb definitely charged me more than what UPS did. I already discussed this in a previous posting. If people that posted on here don't want to read my previous postings and the information that I provided, why should I go back and try to figure out what specific questions I didn't answer?

I understand that, but do you think any of it was malicious?

I've been charged extra shipping for a keyboard I shipped back in November that I sold through Reverb. I have a digital postal scale, and the box I used had the exact dimensions printed on the box. I have a digital postal scale I've used for years so I know the weight was accurate. I ship probably over 600 items a year through Ebay (mostly motorcycle parts).

Today I received an additional shipping charge from Reverb for $19.39. Contacted them and they couldn't tell me anything, that I need to contact the carrier (UPS). Contacted UPS and all they can tell me is that the additional shipping charges don't match what Reverb is charging me.

First of all, Reverb's estimated shipping calculator is a joke. You can put in the exact weight and dimensions and it doesn't even come close to what the actually charges are going to be. I actually refunded the buyer the difference in shipping charges because I had to overestimate it on my listing. So now I know Reverb is making money on shipping not to mention the fact they are charging me extra for the "additional amount" from the original shipment!

This is criminal and I'm going to report them to the Better Business Bureau. If anyone on here has other suggestions I'm willing to listen.
How much of your time is worth $19.39? I would just stop selling on Reverb.

I compare it to auto dealers and big corporate conglomerates nickel and diming you with hidden fees and taxes. I suppose with Reverb being owned by Etsy now (public traded company) they're no better than the big corps.
Hidden fees and taxes aren’t hidden. They’re not as clear as they should be, but they’re there and the informed consumer can find them. What happened here was a mistake. Maybe I’m wrong, but I’m getting the impression you think UPS and/or Reverb tried to steal your money. I just think that’s kinda odd.

Can I just restate the facts?
> You used the Shipping calculator on Reverb. Correct?
> But.....Then you put in your own amount which was higher. Correct?
> Then you refunded some to the buyer because the Actual shipping was lower than your personal estimate. Correct?
> There was a discrepancy on the actual weight. Correct?
> You said 26.75 Lbs and UPS says 54 LB. Correct
> Reverb came back to you for $19.39 more way after the fact. Correct?

How can Reverb be to blame if there is a weight discrepancy reported by UPS? It sounds like UPS came back at Reverb for $19.39 and they passed it on to you believing that you put in the wrong weight.

It does suck to get over charged for anything. Mistakes happen, in this day and age one must choose which battles to fight. Me personally, 20 dollars isn't worth the stress and anxiety to start a thread on. I can't imagine getting 20 dollars worth of advice here that would make me feel better, ain't gonna happen here....:rollno:

Corporations do not put the taxes in their pockets. The taxes are then forwarded to various government agencies. The government makes the corporations, and even small business, collect the taxes. Can't blame corporations for that. Seems like you have misdirected anger when blaming companies for items they have no control over.

Fire them off right now the ones I didn't answer specifically.
Ok. Here's one.
How large was the box?
This was a 16 pound keyboard in a package not much bigger than the board itself!
Doesn't answer how big the box was. And, did you round up on all measurements? UPS is pretty clear that measurements must be rounded up. So. 50.01" should be entered as 51".
Last I checked you can't pick a twenty dollar bill off a tree.
Tell that to fruit and nut farmers.
