Fire happens. (I bought it this way before anybody asks).
I had plans on refinishing. But I brought it to rehearsal, my guitarist loved the look, so I decided to leave it be for the time being.

It is alleged to have sustained skin, liver, and respiratory injuries due to it's origin and that this had contributed to the many unexplained deaths in the area.

Looks more like fire damage. Damn shame too, Aerodyne body? Might as well strip it and see what's left, but I'm not sure it's worth the trouble.If you like how it looks now, run with it.

Looks like Dillion USA Guitars, which are apparently not in production any more.

Those burns look like they go through the finish into the wood. I'd assume there was water damage too if it wasn't for the wood in the neck pocket looking pristine. I'd bet it's still restorable if the maple top is thick enough, but it might not be cheap, especially if OP wants the binding to look good as new.

The finish (the part where it isn't messed up) looks really nice - figured wood, nice transparent finish, and then....

Relic'ing is supposed to mimic normal wear. What this mimics is a horrible industrial accident in the guitar factory.

I hope the welder (working above the factory folks) survived this.

It amazes me that people will sometimes turn something nice into a piece of junk !! (Sorry - I just do not understand the relic "thing" ) !!
