I'm starting to hate my bass

Way too far from the states lol, I can't give off replies for those suggesting craiglist and sweetwater since I live in the philippines lmao. There are affordable offerings here, mostly in the 100-200$ range. It's just a matter of when I can get the money to buy a p or j bass, which is unlikely since the ongoing pandemic has shifted all our finances to strictly day-to-day living.

Short scale, I only have DR HI Beams, roundwound.

But I can send you some 34" scale strings, good ones, and you'll trade when/if you get a new bass.

I have rounds (D'Addario, Maruszczyk) and flats, new Chromes, those will last you forever.

I offered . The one I have was just setup with new DR black beauties strings on it. I may have another family member that sometimes ships to that area but I don't want to cause family problems for anyone. Yrs ago my 15yr old neighbor had a garage band. She broke her drum pedal so I bought her a new one on a unrelated trip to the music store. I didn't want to be the old guy buying gifts for 15 yr old girls so I had a adult female friend give it to her saying they bought it...lol.

I don't know where you are located,but there must be a Music Go Round near you.
They have a lot of used inexpensive basses that you can try out.
And you can use the value of your bass in trade for another of your choice.

Maybe when I grow older and (hopefully) wiser, I'd be able to feel the same. As it is now it's just me with this bass I have a love/hate relationship with lol.

I bought a Steve Harris Sig bass just for the look of it (Blue Sparkle) Found out, I don't like D shaped vintage necks. As much as I love Maiden, Pbasses, Flats, Quarter Pounders and Badass Bridges, that bass got sold to a dude in a Maiden cover band. Love P basses, just not baseball bat necks. It's tough when you have an idea in your head that doesn't jive with reality. Thinking about 'arris playing Phantom of the Opera on that neck gives me nightmares.

Yes, to a guy in a Maiden tribute act. Gorgeous bass, too big a neck for me.
