I'm That Kid at Guitar Center

No matter what time of day, or day of the week, our GC is full of The Kid...but sadly, there are also alot of The "Adult"....older guys doing the same thing. My venture in is usually comprised of a less than 5 minute surgical strike for strings. Sometimes I do hang around if I have time just to listen to the "educated minds" enlightening the masses about instrument/rock and roll knowledge.

"Well, only a true rocker plays a precision bass b/c you can't use a jazz bass in rock" - for real. People still say that
"Dude, black basses always sound better than _________ color"
"If you get a 5/6 string, you will be more like a real guitarist. You get to do solos and stuff...."
"The short basses are for girls...." - referring to short scale basses

Sounds like a cousin. Scream metal is his main interest.
1: Nobody in scream metal plays Fenders, they don't sound good enough. Have to use Ibanez.
2: Black basses say metal.
3: Have to have a 5 string drop tuned to play metal.
4: Constantly asks why I only play shorties. Can't understand it.

I worked in a music store for a bit in the early 90s. For that reason, I can't listen to "Smells Like Teen Spirit" anymore.
