Impending 2014 purchases

Well, I'm looking to downgrade a little. The sale of my Roscoe 5 will facilitate some debt reduction. What's leftover ($500 - $1,000 tops) will be applied to a new bass or basses, depending on what direction I decide to go.

Debating going to a 4 again as my only gig is church and some jazz fill in work. I only use a B for playing some stuff at home.

New gear? Tchah! I can't afford new gear!

I was given my double bass, and I made my own uke-bass. My electrics are both sub-£100 piles of poop.

That said, I think I've got enough. Obviously, I'd love a decent electric bass, and I'd really like a proper uke-bass, but I'm sure I'll manage with what I've got. Who knows, I might acquire something nice in 2014. You never know :)

And some kind of 8 X 10 cab to go with THIS:

My brand-new custom-made all-tube bass amp made by Mark Ashley over at HammerTone Amps. According to Mark, the B-100 is a 100-watt bass amp that is.....

" basically a Fender Showman normal channel with a cathode biased power section. The cathode (self) biasing saves you the trouble of manually biasing plus the power tubes are biased in pairs which gives you the option of "pulling" 2 of them for reduced power practice".

Aside from all that, I guess I'm pretty good, equipment wise!;)

That's a whole lot of awesomeness there, brother. Beautiful build (the outside anyway!). What is the tube compliment? Your output tubes look more like KT-88's instead of 6L6's...

No purchases planned on the bass front. I may switch out my home speaker cabinet from vintage to bleeding-edge technology with one of Mike Arnopol's MVW cabs.

Probably going to put Hipshot ultralites & an A bridge on my main PJ, and maybe put in some large pole Delano pups if I can find an individual Jazz bridge, only seen them in pairs over here.

Tempted by a Squier VM Telecaster Bass Special, too (I've got Jazz/Precision/Jaguar/Mustang body shapes, and wouldn't mind a different Fender type), but I'd like to play one first due to the weight and the 1.7" nut, but nobody seems to stock them around here..

I'd also not turn down a deal on a 2012/2013 Fender MIA Precision Standard, either black or sunburst with a maple neck, but it's not high on my list because I really can't justify the better part of a grand on one instrument.

Mostly just pickups and parts for what I already have in the new year. I'll be saving for my first high end bass throughout the year but I have a wedding comin up so I'll have to be a grown up about priorities for awhile haha. Luckily I can always sell to fund other stuff and trade!

I'm definitely getting a bass this year but right now im going through the pros and cons of about 8 different models and i just don't know....probably will start a thread about it at some point and ask opinions. My budget is small so it probably won't go over 400$....
