Double Bass Impressive Recording: Bach in the lower octaves

I came across a great bass player in the Warsaw Phil playing the Cello suites transcribed for the lower range of the bass. It's hard to find solo music that really features this range of the instrument. It's nice to see such musical and expensive playing. He's recorded quite a lot of them. No 2 and 4 are my favourites:

I’ve been exploring the suites for my own practice at pitch and down the octave for pizz practice in particular. However I have been feeling the urge to get a transposed edition for arco practice. It seems like it could have a lot more practical use as this middle/middle-upper register is used a lot more than the upper register.

It's great. There just isn't a lot of real "music" in the lower register besides some of the overlooked baroque cello/gamba sonatas.

I highly recommend the Tramontozzi arrangements of the suites available on the ISB store. I have the 4th Suite in the key of G and it’s quite fun (and challenging!) to play (uses the whole range from 1st position on the E and A up to just above the G harmonic).
