Improvised Amp Covers for Inexpensive Amps

My wife can sew with the best of them! :bassist: She made this Vox cover out of very heavy tweed,
corduroy material.

Plastic Tarp (the grey ones with the nylon fabric woven in, not the thin blue tarp), and some grey duct tape. Total DIY cost about $7 to $10. Tools: knife or scissors, sharpie, and a straight edge ruler. Use your creative engineering to wrap up the amp, and cut a hole for the handle.

For extra protection and padding, double up on the tarp and use more tape. It's better padded and offers more protection than the cheap thin nylon covers that come with amps.

From the cardboard and duct tape family..my Fender Rumble boxes (great cardboard) recut and heavily taped. Covered with old purple sheets with spray contact adhesive. Tops sprayed with waterproofing (but not sure that really worked)..good enough for car to venue in the rain. These have dense polystyrene blocks on as well to make amp stands for keyboard playing (otherwise stick em on the ground). Two years of weekly use and covers are as good as new..amps too. More protection than a tolex sleeve and reckon I'll get another decade or two out of these. Also keep the Aussie dust out.
