Fair enough. The way I see it, it was written so that there was no concrete answer to what happened within the movie or how it ended. I just don't like how he tried to pull it off. But, different strokes n all that![]()

the children are wearing different clothes as confirmed in an interview with the costume designer for the movie. Also, the children have indeed aged two years per the final credits which list different actors for Phillipa at 3 years and 5 years and for James at 20 months and 3 years. You wouldn't have been able to say definitively that they'd never aged anyway because you don't see their faces until the end. The two facts that I presented above combined with the fact that he sees their faces at the end convinces me that the top does stop spinning and that he is, in fact, in reality.
