Which is what you get when trying to replace one of the most talented and influential bassists of the past 5 years with a GUITARIST... Sorry, but Dirk was Incubus. Look at them now. ****ty songwriting, pitiful lyrics, music that's so mediocre it's sad. Sure, my guitarist is talented and can pick up my bass and fill in if needs be, like I'm sure Ben can. But replace DIRK in a band that's so bass-oriented as Incubus??? Are you effin' kidding me?!?!? And on a JIZZ-bass, playing with a PICK!?? I've seen and watched some stuff live, and it's just really, really sad... Especially after just watching the "Morning View Sessions", and the entire set from the Bizarre Festival in Germany from '02... It's funny, it really is...

Oh!! Hey everyone we have a comedian here!!!! That fine instrument is a Lakland JO. There's nothing wrong with dudes using picks to cut through for rock. Squire. When I seen them live here in Bakersfield Kenney was using his fingers. With that attitude, you have some growing to do as a bassist.

I couldn't agree with you more. Ben ruined all the old songs for me

Im sorry, but that song is not hard to play at all...

I didnt start listening to incubus untill a few months ago and all i can say about Dirk is i wish you were here...

This is of course not true, as he can be seen enjoying all kinds of songs in the Morning View Sessions show. He enjoys 'Wish You Were Here' a lot even though his bassline is really relaxed!

dirk lance all the way, ben kenney is disgraceful. dirk had the tight sound with jose and just made me cry listening to his tone and rhythm. his solo stuff kicked ass too.

ben kenney is a typical bass player, just a droned sound in the background, doing what the guitarist tells them to. he may aswell be in an indie band.

shame on you mike einziger for clashing with him, because dirk 'restricted his playing'... tut tut

He has a few breaks not really solos and when you said that I thought you meant actual solo albums.How can you say Ben is disgraceful?Have you ever heard him play?!?!Fair enough saying Dirk is great as he is but don't talk about stuff you don't know anything about.

mmm get Alive At Red Rocks and you'll see that Ben Kenney is excellent, and is perfert for the new direction that Incubus is headed toward.. With that said... Dirk Lance is still the man! and the reason I want to get better at the bass.. He simply can't be replaced when it's all said and done..
