Woot! Finally found someone who couldn't pass up the insane special on this L-1000!
This one turned out to be the "Insane Special of the Quarter" rather than of the week. LOL
I'll hunt around back in the warehouse and find another item to put up at an insane price sometime this week!

EBMM released a brand new Stingray design for 2018 at NAMM last week, so I'm of a mind to move along the ones that I currently have in stock so that I can keep up with the times. I've got 5 of the new ones on order, and selling these older ones would help me pay for some of these new ones when the time comes.
So first up is this gorgeous Vintage Sunburst Stingray 4 with the 3-band EQ. This bass is 100% mint, it's been living in it's case since it arrived here in May 2015. The striations you see on the pickguard are just the thin film that covers the actual pickguard. Once you peel that off, the pickguard will look glorious.

I've got another special running that I figure this is as good a place as any to post about. This Blueburst L-1000 got sold a few weeks ago, but it came back after 2 weeks. That's outside our usual 7-day return policy, but I took it back because the customer was adamant that something was wrong with the bass.
Turns out he must've gotten his hands on a bum set of strings or he put them on with a lot of twist. Because when I got the bass back, it was indeed behaving as poorly as he had described. The action was a mile high, but every string was still buzzing. I knew he had loved the bass prior to changing the strings, so I took a chance and put on a fresh set of DR Sunbeams. Lo and behold, the bass is now back to playing like a dream. SMH I did a complete setup, and the action can go very low with no buzz at all.
I did charge the guy a restocking fee because it came back under misunderstood pretenses. There was definitely a problem when it came back, but it had nothing to do with the bass. If I were a jerk, I would've just shipped the bass back to him. And if I were an even bigger jerk, I would've included a bill for the strings and the setup. LOL Alas, I'm not a jerk.
I'm still selling it technically as new (i.e. full warranty and whatnot), but I wouldn't feel good about charging full price for a bass that was out of my possession for 2 weeks. So I've knocked $300 off, somebody will get a bargain on this one! $1375 shipped takes this one home!
G&L L-1000 (Blueburst) **B-STOCK**

Well, the Blueburst L-1000 sale didn't stick. Doug decided he wants to try a dual pickup bass instead, so the L-1000 is back in the bargain bin! And this Music Man Stingray will be on it's way to Doug this evening.
So shipping that Stingray yesterday leaves this bass as the only one still active as an insane special. It's not completely insane, though, so I'll add another bass later after some pondering...

Well I fortunately was able to score this lovely L1000. The bass sounds and plays fantastically. I got it yesterday and took I it to my gig tonight. Thumpity thump thump she went. It growled and snarled like a good bass should and I received many comments on the gorgeous finish.
I'm glad she found her way to me and look forward to giggin the smack out of it.

Yes sir. I also took the sunburst L2K. What a beast that bass is. Ran them both of them through my Bassman 100T and Bassman Pro Neo 410. It was a thumping good time.
There will be more! I've got a bunch of pieces here that I would love to move through at a steep discount because they've been here a long time or whatever. I guess there's no insane special running right now since all of these basses found homes. Lemme go find another one and set it up later today.

I had a customer who wanted this bass to arrive with a wider nut than the usual 1.5" nut. I didn't think twice about it, and neither did anyone at G&L. I ordered the wider nut, my G&L sales guy setup the order with the wider nut, and then... the factory made the bass with a 1.5" nut. Just like they are supposed to.
Oh, well. Lesson learned! This one arrived in December, so it's brand spanking new. All that means is that I wouldn't feel right about advertising a big discount on my website like I normally would for one of these insane specials. It's not old stock, it's not B-stock... it's just a brand new bass that I wasn't intending to have in inventory.
So the only way to learn about this deal is to find it in this thread. If anyone wants to grab it, we'll just have to work out payment details outside my website's normal cart process. We've got several ways to do that: Paypal, the deposit item on my website, check, cash, etc.
Anyway - here's the deal. This $1650 bass can be yours for... $1250 shipped CONUS!

Jesus...just when I thought I had the only Roscoe I needed...I LOVED this pickup set up when I had a Lakland 55-02.
I may have to give Greg a call. I have been thinking P bass but as my wife tells me I never keep 4 strings and she's right. I'm a 5 string guy and a Roscoe guy so...
