I was going to say Conklin but I think he does build some darn unique and good stuff.I'd agree with everyone so far. I think the Alembic and Fodera name are a bit overpriced. Don't get me wrong, I'd still think about adding some to my collection, but it's very obvious that you can get something just as good, if not better from some of the smaller luthiers.
I'm surprised nobody mentioned Conklin, although the kinda specialize in stuff and blazed a trail for the stuff that nobody else was doing at the time. I'll let everyone know how it all works out when mine is done later this year.

This thread mostly is talking about new prices. New, they are a bit overpriced, although I mainly think that it is the deluxe models that are overpriced.
