insanely over priced

in your opinion, what basses are insanely over priced?

I'll agree with USA Fender. As for the others mentioned, I've never played any of them, so I can't say.

I'd agree with everyone so far. I think the Alembic and Fodera name are a bit overpriced. Don't get me wrong, I'd still think about adding some to my collection, but it's very obvious that you can get something just as good, if not better from some of the smaller luthiers.

I'm surprised nobody mentioned Conklin, although the kinda specialize in stuff and blazed a trail for the stuff that nobody else was doing at the time. I'll let everyone know how it all works out when mine is done later this year.

I don't think any are really overpriced.....within reason. Man, we have it pretty good compared to what brass and woodwind players pay for their instruments.

Or just about anybody else for that matter: check out the prices on bowed instruments.

With a waiting list as long as most bass builders have these days, I'm amazed they don't charge more.

MIA Fenders, really? I got my '98 Jazz for $500 used, dropped in a set of NJ4's for $130 and it kicks ass! I couldn't image a better bass for less than $700.

True dat. Bill is certainly takes on a lot of projects that other companies probably wouldn't. For the life of me, I was unable to find a neckthrough 35" scale fretless 6 with radiused pickups, a dymondwood fingerboard, and a piezo. Doesn't exist, right? Thanks to Bill, it will.
