Cables are in. Nice packaging on the Live wire Elite. Even comes with a little velcro tie to wrap it up and keep it coiled up in ones bag. A nice touch. Reviews to follow. I was a little disappointed that the DiMarzo was not available in a straight to angled version. I'm not sure if MF just doesn't carry it, or if DiMarzo doesn't make it.

Can't speak to newer cables manufactured in the last 10 years, but previous 'Monster Bass' cables had oversized 1/4" plugs which stretched out whatever jack they were plugged into over time & were actually really high capacitance (thus attenuating noticable treble frequencies - they called that 'more bass').

I'm told newer production runs have more appropriately sized plugs.

I thought my old Monster cables were great until I A/B'ed them against actual quality stuff with low capicitance. I was shocked & sold them all off!

Wow i actually a b'ed them with another monster cable that my guitarist owned. I do admit the bass cabke did sound like it knocked out some of the highs. .. still thought the bass cable sounded good. What would you recommend as the best cable to go with then?

DiMarzio do make straight to angled cables, my memory is that they're available in the 20' length but not the 10' length, but that may have changed.

Hey does anybody know what covering/sleeving is used for armor gold cables? It looks a lot like techflex, but I have a Lava ELC with techflex on it and it's much stiffer (not to mention that color isn't offered by techflex unless Armor Gold special orders it from them)...the Armor Gold is much more flexible. I don't know if that stiffness is from the cable itself or the sleeving.

Only reason I ask is that I wanna start making my own cables (for my own use, not for sale) and the only reason I don't wanna buy Armor Gold is because that amphenol plug they use shorted out on me a few months in and then the tip of the jack got stuck in my amp, rendering it useless until I managed to get it out. I'd like the flexibility of armor gold but using Lava ELC or Canare cable with G+H plugs.

Wow, just checking out the usual suspects available on MF, as far as low capacitance goes, it's disappointing to say the least. The Rapco Horizon Standard was the lowest I could find; most were a lot higher.

I invested in several Armor Gold cables after reading Bongo's review and have been very satisfied. They have gone through 3 years of indoor and outdoor gigging under all conditions with super sound and zero issues. The connectors are rock solid and the coating is tough and very flexible.

Those RI cables are my absolute favorite for the exact reasons you stated. I would use them exclusively if I could find them more. I use one from my bass to pedal board, with the rest being DiMarzios.
