Instrumental Prog Rock/Metal Recommendations?

Hey all,

I’m looking for some instrumental prog rock/metal recommendations. I’m not looking for something too aggressive, but I do want something with a bit of bite to it... Songs like Rush’s “La Villa Strangiato” or Metallica’s “The Call of Ktulu” are along the lines of what I’m looking for.

Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

There are some pretty great instrumental scores from the Transformers 1986 Animated Movie OST as well if anyone is interested. The composer (DiCola) was a huge fan of ELP and Yes and you can hear some of that influence.

I remembered after posting this thread that Dream Theater also has a few instrumental songs, so I will give those a listen too.

Anyone have any more recommendations?

I love Triumvirat, “Delusions of a Double Dimple” is one of my favourite albums, but I haven’t heard it a good year or two.

I will check it out as well as Happy The Man (who I’ve been meaning to check out for a while but took a hiatus from music for about a year and I’m just starting to pick up where I left off). I’ll also look at Camel. Thanks!
