man, that would be awsome! the range would be absolutely mental! i'll leave it to someone with a better grasp of figures to work out what the range would be in a more technical sense...

Quite a bit.. although the highest string would tend to get rather thin. Trey Gunn of King Crimson generally just has a whole tone difference between the upper two strings. Tuning in fifths is also quite unwieldy for normal playing, but works rather well for tapping.

or the bottom one would be like the steel ropes they use on supension bridges and the like ;)
