Interesting thought

I am considering purchasing an SX bass in the very near future. With all the news about lead content in the paint on toys made in China should I be at all concerned about the paint used on these basses? Just something that popped into my head after seeing yet another news story about another recalled toy today.

Not unless you plan to lick your bass.

I don't think there is any lead in the paint used on basses. I could be wrong though.

But even if there is, it's not a problem unless you plan on eating your bass. Unless you play with your teeth, you should be fine.

Absorbing chemicals through the skin is a real problem, and lead is absorbed through the skin very easily. It attacks the nervous system and stays in your system for a long, long time. That said, I doubt there is lead in this paint, maybe a host of other chemicals, but not lead.
