With 1.5 Mbps download speed with at&t internet service can you watch youtube or Music Dojo to take a bass class with out it freezing or going hay wire ? Will 1.5 Mbps maintain its intergrity with videos ? Thanks for the science !

I think streaming video is a very forgiving "constant bit rate" application, meaning you can miss a lot of samples and not notice it. Your QoS (Quality of Service) really isn't for constant bit rate applications. If it were an IP voice service you were using, you would notice it. Your guaranteed bandwidth is averaged over a longer period than a constant bit rate QoS connection would provide. You're most likely getting your guaranteed bandwidth, but it includes caching and rate limiting and other things that you as a user don't notice. But in answer to your question; Yes, I think you should have NO problem with 1.5 Mbps - believe it or not, that's some serious bandwidth.

1.5Mbps = 1500 Mega bits per second ~= 1500Mbps/8= 187.5KB/s.
Youtube streams are ~60-100KB/s. You will buffer much faster on a 1.5Mbps line then you would dialup.
Really, that's MORE than enough for the youtubes and most of the inanets.
At my college I am only getting around a 324kbps... so don't complain.

I can't even view some web pages due to the excessive load times.
NOBODY has a slower connection than I do.
I have a throttled-down DSL from Verizon and I max at about 96Kbps DL. Its enough to play Youtube, but when I tried to watch a streamed episode of The Unit on the CBS site (innertube), all I could get was stutter and freeze. I use a connection monitor called DUMeter, and I was DLing a solid 96Kbps at the time with nothing else accessing the account, so I was going as fast as Im allowed on this account.

I do. I use a 300 baud modem with an analog telephone. I have a special browser that loads only the text of the web pages and displays it on my green mono monitor. If I want to see some graphics, I send them to my IBM 403 printer. Takes hours to download, though.

consider yourself lucky o have that available. In Australia we cant get over 256kps. When i cap i go down to 60kps. I would KILL for 1.5mps
