Well, it's a visceral experience that touches on all the senses. It's the balcony of Mr Toots in Capitola. The perfect time to "get it?" Late September around 8 p.m. Saturday. The sliding door will be opened slightly. live music will be playing in the coffee shop ( usually Sax ( the owner ), drums and bass. Others have and do play with them from time to time. )
The smell of great cooking all round. The view of the ocean, the "tree" and the birds in flight. The sailboats dropping anchor and gently rocking in the waves. The smell of the ocean, the sound of the waves lapping on the shore. The feel of the breeze on my face.
The pork ribs from the California Grill ( to go so I can eat them at Mr Toots ) and my Mona Lisa beverage.

Did you play hookie today from work making it a 4 day weekend?

no, but I did get called in yesterday, making it a 2-day weekend. :p

on labour day I got called in to work, and pulled an 11-hour shift. I am jealous of you matticus.

what's your favourite way to spend a day off?

1) I spent time with my youngest daughter. We watched some movies, made some popcorn, and rough housed :) I love my weekends with her. When she went back to her moms I watched a couple movies I have meaning to watch ( Bodyguards and Assassins, and Rock Photographer ) both were quite good. I also practiced for about 3 and a half hours. My hands are getting better all the time :D

2) I think these days my favorite way to spend them is with family. A weekend "geek-out" game fest at my brothers is always a blast .. even though it's SO hard on me now :D It's always a great time. We fit a jammy jam in just for giggles. He's learning to play guitar ( so obviously he went out and bought a freakin' Les Paul standard .. 'cuz you know, he wanted to learn on "something good" and not the Russian torture device *I* learned on).

Do you still own your first instrument?

I have a 6-mile commute and probably cycle another 20-30 miles on top of that weekly, so probably around 3 hours total. Wow, that's not a lot!

I also rig PA at least once a week, which usually gets the ol' blood pumping.

When was the last time you went swimming?

last year, we used to have an on-ground pool in our back yard, but we took it down last year, and were too busy to get a replacement.

is it normal to have difficulty with thinking up a question?

Stability was what I hired for. All things being equal I'll take the family person every time. They have bills to pay and responsibilities are often taken seriously. Show me a solid history of work where it was more than 1 or 2 years at one job.

Have you been the person to hire/fire? If so, did you like it?

The simple answer is yes. ( job ) Although Intel called it "corporate downsizing". It wasn't performance based and they actually gave me a rather nice golden umbrella ( I was one of the fortunate few actually ) Still out of work is out of work.

If you were to strike it filthy rich tomorrow, would you still find that you'd like to work?

I'd continue to work, though Id probably invest into some sort of business I would find more pleasurable. There are a number of fields I'd much rather be involved in than Window & Door Replacement Hardware. Id probably go into video production, or become a bvrewmaster, resources pending.

What is your dream job?

Grand Pianos can be pretty, but I prefer well crafted string instruments with nice grain patterns. One of my roommates played cello at the music department and he had a gorgeous dark-stained cello. If I ever saw a bass like that, I'd have to steal it.

Have you ever had a roommate who was a member of the opposite sex?

Yes. I frequently do and have crashed in my friends room a million times. We have never crossed over lines in terms of I sleeping in here bed.

If something is very obvious, why is it still difficult to.sometimes believe it.
