I don't know if it would be a must have for me. At $150 it's the same price as my Focusrite iTrack solo, without the Focusrite level of quality, and only a 1/8" out. Not really an issue for me, but the Focusrite has 1/4" stereo/mono out, and RCA out, as well as having connectivity for Mac, PC, USB, yada yada yada, included Ableton Live Lite and Scarlett plugins, etc.
It is more compact, and I like that, and the MIDI through capability is cool although I don't currently use that, so that doesn't really break any deals for me but might for others.
Still, it's never bad to have another option on the market pushing everyone to make something better for a good price point.

Or... I'll keep it. The dock will have better A/D converters for lower noise stuff.
