Has anyone upgraded their jamup to the use the 8 track recorder? If so how does it compare to the "Multitrack DAW" app? I do not like how you loose some sound quality when recording into DAW and then when you upload to soundcloud it looses even more sound quality. When I upload from Jamup when I record onto their Sampler it sounds great even after uploading to soundcloud. Sorry if this has been talked about but I do not have time to read how many thousands of post this thread has going now.

Yeah, I updated the recorder in Jamup. It's good for a quick scratchpad, but any serious recording I still use MTDAW.

I am so basic in my recordings. Do you notice any sound quality issues with the Jamup 8 track?

Also do any of you get any sound quality issues when using MT DAW on your iPhone5? Where it sounds one way when playing only through Jamup and then a different way when playing through Audiobus/MT DAW?

When I use Audiobus I get sound quality and latency issues. I mainy use Jamup for everything but noticed last night it has latency issues with ampkit as well.

Got the sonic forge and have no latency issues. I record into cubasis and it sounds as good as any cd I've ever bought (in terms of audio quality )

Sorry.meant sonic port! Sonic forge is a pc daw mainly for recording and exporting. Sonic port is an interface I have for iPad/phone . Cubasis is only available on iPad and is a scales down version of cubase but still feature rich enough to get pro audio results if the input signal is at least half good. It has unlimited tracks too (depending on how much memory you have)

Check cubasis on YouTube and sonic port for that matter. Sonic port is the cheapest of the decent interfaces and also has a 1/4" stereo/mono out plus aux in so you can run iPod etc through while you play.

So...

I was checking out the iRig BlueBoard. I have to say, that's pretty exciting in that it's $100. Are any of you using the BlueBoard with Jamup? I'd like to have 8 pedals - 2 boards. I'd like to setup one board to select banks and the other for patches. This way I have 4 patches for my Acoustic bass, 4 for the fretless, 4 for the 5-string, and 4 for my guitar (is that a bad word here? ).

I still need to finish my 10', 30-pin, extension. I'll start with 10', but I really need something more like 20'-25', but I'm worried about signal degradation. I have the iO Dock in a 2U rack that needs to be far away from the mic stand (for OnSong). That's the hurtle I'm jumping over with my iOS rig.

[mushy stuff] I appreciate you all posting 5 threads of iOS info. It's a lot to sift through, but there's some very valuable information in these threads. It's helped me quite a bit.[\mushy stuff]

I don't think they have "officially" released it for sale... only "officially announced" that it's on pre-order. IK likes to announce things WAY sooner than they will hit the market. Not sure about using two of them at once but I suppose a quick jump over the IK's forum might get you an answer. They probably don't hang out here much any more :smug:

It does look really cool and it will let you hook up expression pedals which is even cooler

I'm waiting for real world reviews before I jump on the Blueboard, but the dual expression pedal option makes it a winner as long as it doesn't end up being a turd.

I think using two at once will probably have to wait for a developer to make an app to assign two Blueboards. I wouldn't hold your breath for one from IK.

OH jeez..... I think I've made an expensive mistake.

- The BlueBoard puts out MIDI, right? Then I don't need the MIDI out to run a MIDI foot pedal. Since the BlueBoard appears to be MIDI programmable, you could be able to have as many as you like.

- The iRig HD does not use the mic input for the instrument in.

Assuming that the headphone audio output of the iPad4 is acceptable for live use, all you need now is the iRig HD, BlueBoard, and Jamup to control patches from the iPad.

I'll still use the Alesis iO Dock. I'm sure of it. However, if the BlueBoard turns out to be as good as it looks, I'm wondering which is better/cleaner, the Sonic Port or the iRig HD or Apogee Jam, or..... I'm sure that's a debate that's already been done, but has anyone put an O-scope on all three (or more) units to compare signals? That would be a cool test, but would cost $400-$600 to buy in, not to mention the Guitar/signal generator and O-scope.

Too many ideas, not enough time or money.

I've used the headphone jack for live use quite a few times, including this evening at rehearsal. I don't have any switching yet but have my iPhone 4S mounted on my mic stand so I can just reach over and change things.

I'm adding more synth stuff with Sunrizer and Midimorphosis to some of our ballads. It sounds great so far. I'm not sure how that will all work when the Blueboard is added. I can make due with one plus expression pedals.

As it turns out, had I watched the videos, I'd know that if you hold the "A" pad it moves up a bank, and "B" moves down. That's the good news. The Bad News is that there's no feedback on the foot pedal. The only way to know exactly where you are is by the iOS device, or by sound. I'm pretty sure I could get used to the timing, but I don't like to guess where I am.

I'm very tempted to pre-order, none the less.

Wow... and amazingly it's available NOW! I figured for sure it was going to be at least 6 months before anyone actually saw the real thing knowing IK's track record of product announcement and realization ;)

Only problem I have with it that makes it fall "just" short of being the interface to have is the lack of audio OUT... why do you think they would choose to stop short and still make you use the headphone out? I don't get it :confused:
