I finally got mi iTrack as an upgrade to the Jam, and all I can say is WOW!

Amazing recording quality, direct monitor, speakers direct output + headphones output and the option of recording high quality vocals or the bass with a mic if you wish.

It even has compatibility with JamUp where you can select between the two inputs. If I would have to choose between the two of them, I would go directly to the iTrack. The only good thing I see about the Apogee Jam now is portability.

Plus you don't get stuck on iOS, you can switch to Windows without issues.

I hear ya. I'm in the same exact spot.

What's keeping me from the idock is the fact that it doesn't fit the ipad 3 perfectly, and that other stuff in the amazon review. Paricuarly how they seem to be ignoring complaints.

The Alesis I/O dock fits a 3rd Generation iPad perfectly. I don't know where folks heard that it doesn't, but it's simply not true.

I don't find the tone in ITrack better then the Apogee Jam, but the iTrack is better overall due to A/D and D/A conversion, headphone amp (can drive my AKG K701) and line out. In Addition one can record with 96/24 with the iTrack compares to 48/24 on the Apogee.

Thanks PG we have full support in Jamup for the iTrack. Ampkit and Amplitube still lack full support.

I m tempted to buy iTrack but Apogee announced the new Apogee One.But its so expensive compared to iTrack, 200$ more.
Is it really worth it or we re just paying here the name of the brand?

Actually, I stand corrected...

It's not "yep"... it's a resounding "YES!!!".

That latest AudioBus update fixed performance problems on an iPhone 4 1st Gen, it seems.

I have the AudioBus buffer size set to 512 frames. Then I set JamUp XT as the input in AudioBus' chain. No effects in the effects slot. Finally, MultiTrack DAW in the output slot.

I started both JamUp XT and MTD from within ADB (before I couldn't do this). I didn't bother enabling airplane mode on my iPhone... just fired things and made a couple of recordings in 2-3 takes. I even had Google drive open in the background at one point.

Switching among apps seems seamless now... no glitches (although I still prefer switching apps the old fashioned iPhone way...).

Here are the samples.

The 1st one is another take on Enamórame's bass line. It's a BDDI before the K800.

The 2nd one is a BDDI before the B15. In real life, if I did have a B15 wouldn't place a BDDI anywhere in the chain... but this is a virtual world, so...

Now, if only the iPhone screen wasn't so #@%* small... I'll be spending more time learning how to use MultiTrack DAW (and learning how to play the bass, of course! ).

Just bought the full version of amplitube, cuz I wanted the drum looper. Didn't realize upon buying it that the drum looper comes with only one loop, and it's another $14 if you want the rest. Pissed off at that, but I bought it anyhow. I have to stop buying this crap.

I have more than enough app ware on my ipad to inspire and record a billion songs. Gotta just start utliizing it all.

For anyone interested in AURIA, which I raved about early in this and the other thread... be warned that they seem to make it impossible to use with other apps, such as amplitube. I'm really hoping they change this, or I just havn't figured out how to do it yet. Their amp modeling/effects app leaves a lot to be desired, and it's actually keeping me from using the program. I think I have to jump off this forum and onto theirs, if I want answers.

Anyhow. I'm digging the full version of amplitube, and the drum thing is stupid simple to create songs with. I'll chime in if anything out of the ordinary happens. Hope to start posting some work I'm doing with this stuff soon.

I'm quite sceptic using money on Auria. First of all this app demand more power then MT DAW and without Audiobus one must buy Jamup within the app. Not cool.

In the iTunes store the description of audiobus says that a iPhone4s is a minimum requirement. Glad you proved otherwise.

No. Not as far as I can see thus far. U get 4 parts to choose from, 4 fills, an intro and an ending for each beat. There are 8 beats per genre. The beats and samples are pretty cool though. It's limited, for sure... But there's enough to inspire complete songs and get some good demo work done. IMO of course.

Auria supports Audiobus Duke

Yes, but if one wants to use Auria with Audiobus and Jamup it is recommended to have iPad 3 or 4.

I'm getting a new phone in a day or two and had been planning on continuing down the Android road, but to be honest I wasn't that impressed with my choices. I found out about some of the music apps for the iPhone and iPad and it piqued my interest in possibly getting an iPhone instead. I wasn't sure if the 4S that I could afford would do the trick (I basically just want to use it as a practice tool) but this thread has helped me make the decision. It looks like a 4S for me!
