Well, same thing just less bass amps to choose from. You kind of "stuck" with Ampeg as Amplitube have only Ampeg.

iOS, iPhone, iPad and music 101

Well, same thing just less bass amps to choose from. You kind of "stuck" with Ampeg as Amplitube have only Ampeg.
I only use the left side when running mono into my amp or the PA. My output of my iPhone goes into a DI box before the PA/amp.
Just want to share my experience thus far:
Quiet Home Rig - Bass>Alesis IO Dock w/iPad 1 Running iOS 5.1>headphones
Loud Home Rig - Bass>Alesis IO Dock w/iPad 1 Running iOS 5.1>aux input of Ampeg BA112 amp

For band practice I'm planning to go Bass>Alesis IO Dock w/iPad 1 Running iOS 5.1>PA system. Hoping this works well. Will update whenever we get together to practice again.
All-in-all, I'm pretty happy with the situation. My first attempt to get some tonal variation that I felt the BA112 wasn't giving me was to purchase a Sansamp BDD. It was great but I think in the long-run the potential that the iPad/IO Dock gives is really great. Hoping that GarageBand gets updated with some bass specific options in the near future.

- GarageBand for recording tracks and mixing tracks. Not crazy about lack of bass amp modellers but am able to get pretty good tone using guitar amp modellers

That's why us bassists need to stick together!
I tried to do it sometime ago ,i couldn't and i gave up.my advice is :get Multitrack Daw and Audiobus and then you can easily do stuff.
1.write your stuff in GB.
2.email each track from GB separately to yourself.
3.Open each track (from email) in Multitrack and copy paste it there.
4.using audiobus play your bass in Jamup recording on Multitrack
I wish GB had audiobus support

I have an Ipad 3, with AT and Garageband. Picked up an Apogee Jam, then came upon this thread. Well, two hours later and I now have Jamup, Audiobus, DM1, and Loopy.
Just wanted to say thanks, I'm subbed to the thread. Putting my Micro-vr into retirement. It's nice having everything consolidated onto the Ipad. Even better when I am deployed I don't have to worry about trying to bring an amp(really tough to do if anyone else has had that experience).

bmb73, interesting to hear someone can put a Micro VR into retirement and choosing Jamup over it. It just shows that amp sim. came a long way in iOS.
I do like it, and the capabilities that Jamup has as far as the tones I can get. I'm no expert by any means, just was struck by the tone possibilities.
One question, I see people have some presets up. How do I go about finding those on the Jamup app?
I got that up, but when I choose a preset it just brings up the comments, am I missing an easy step?
Top right corner, there's a tab. That brings up a page that lets you designate where you want to put the preset you are downloading.

Using audiobus, I entered a drum track in the input section and it started to play. With Jamup open, I could hear the bass. However, once I put that into the effects box, it went totally silent. Under options I have both the drums and bass to play in the background. Not sure what is going on..
