I am looking for an iPhone app I can use to record some bass line I might have in my head. It would have a left-handed fretboard I could tap out the notes, and save/record it for later reference.

garageband you can tap in the bass line on a fretboard but no tabs. (I am not sure what you were refering to) However you can show and edit the riff in a midi kinda grid... I am not exactly sure about the export capabilities you might be able to send to your mac and export lead sheets...
