I had read that initially they didn't allow for adding and editing events in iCal on the ipod touch. You had to add on your mac, and then sync. Then I heard that the update allowed you to fully edit and add events just as you do on your mac.

I agree, if it does that, I'm getting it for a PDA. I haven't found a PDA that fully supports all the features of iCal, which is, in my opinion, the best calendar program out there.

i have the iPhone, and you can add events directly to the phone though.

the only drawback is this, you cannot specify what type of event it is.
e.g. i have many different calendars in my iCal... work, class, gigs, bills, etc.

if you add event onto the phone directly, you can't specify what kind of event it is.

That sucks!!!! That's the whole point of having multiple calendars.

What kind of event does it come up as when you sync it back to the computer?

All of the iPhone / iPod Touch entries will sync to a single calendar back in iCal. I forget if it's the first or last calendar on your iCal list, but it'll sync back to one of those.

The iPod Touch got calendar entry capabilities with the 1.1.1 firmware update.

you can specify what you want it to sync as.

note: the iCal events that you have made on your computer do not change, it only affects events entered directly into the device.

OK, that will work. I would just create a calendar that I knew had to be updated on the computer. Thanks.

I want an iPhone. Thing is that I'd have to do a £45 a month contract to cover my texting needs. That's a lot of money.... grrrr
