Glad Im not the only one. The only IE pedal I have I feel I have a firm grasp on is the Nimbus SE.

I have an FMeron, Xerograph Deluxe and Arcing Prisms also and out of those three the Arcing prisms is probably the next one I feel I have a pretty good understanding of. The other two? getting there but it's a process.

Funny...Up till the shutdowns last year I really didn't give pedals a second thought, but now I've got a whole bunch. The sonic/tonal pallets these give you are far out, and I can easily waste a whole day playing around with different sounds.

I believe they asked for "weathered copper with flecks of patina" so I actually cold-cast real copper onto the aluminum enclosure, then allowed it to patina naturally outside for a while, then did some "weathering" with sandpaper to make it look like it really had been sitting down in a mine for a while. So the "gunk" is a thick textured layer of real copper. It's probably tough to get a good photo of something like that, but also it's OK if the look is not for everyone. :)

will you ever go back to enclosures like that?

No offense taken at all, just wanted to give some info for anybody interested in buying that but not sure what's going on with the finish. It probably looks better in person, but still a weird finish.

I'm still using the same enclosures, and that finish was for sure a one-of-a-kind, but if you mean the engraving and airbrushed finishes, I'm not sure. They just take so much more time, which means fewer pedals in stock, and people seem to like the newer ones too. Plus, I'm getting to be an ol' chunk o' coal, darn near 35 ;), and trying to take better care of my body. All the physical labor of many rounds of sanding involved in those finishes started to take a toll. But I've got lots of ideas and those who've followed my pedals for the last decade know that I don't keep doing the same thing for too long.

edit: ...but probably, yes, at some point.

I dunno. After all this discussion I decided to take a look. I think the finish is pretty cool. I'd have opted for it over the whole case or maybe on a case where the steel was finished to look similar in tone, but I think it's a cool looking bit of industrial decay.

What's the confusion with the Xerograph Deluxe? I found that one to be one of the easier filters to dial in. It gets so juicy and the filter sweep is 2nd only to the Moog in my opinion. Some solid settings have been shared here and in the dubterrograph shots (just look at the xero side).
