Iron Ether Appreciation Society

I’m not discredited because people are hoarding them. Lol. Pedals don’t break if you aren’t trashing them, much less boutique pedals. You don’t need a backup that sits on a shelf so you can stare at it and bask in the knowledge that you own not one, but two, and someone somewhere can’t have it. Cuz it’s yours. And you have TWO. And one is still in the box and it’s sealed and it’s gonna be worth more someday. It’s like talking to my dad. It’s a symptom of childhood poverty.

backups.

amazing.

You guys talk about backups like Geddy’s tech talking about his wireless receiver. They have two cuz they are screwed if one dies from years of touring.

Your FMeron will be fine on your pedaltrain that lives in the basement.

lmao now I’m just trying to be a big mean jerk but it’s all to make a point. I have no resentment toward anyone that got an FM yesterday due to lucky timing or an alert. I’m happy for ya. Just hate the backup talk.

If you really want one, buy it now for the price you see. If you think it's too expensive, simply wait for Taylor to produce more pedals or hunt for a good deal. Most Talk Bass members sell the IE pedals for a reasonable price.

That's how it works with a boutique high quality item in any field (especially where a small quantity is produced). You would hate the watch world.

You might think you sound like a jerk but really all I get from your attitude is a child throwing a tantrum...

You signed up for the notifications when the pedal is in stock? Yes? Well you should go buy when you receive that notification. No? Well you should've signed up. You were in this thread asking about the FMeron before and had to notice Iron Ether product movement has been crazy recently. You snooze you lose. Everything else is just sour grapes..

Who posted about having a backup anyway..???

notifications are one thing, but being free in those 5 minutes is another. I have a job and I was at that job when they became available. Didn’t see the notification until 2 hours later. Not bitter about that at all bc I understand. I’m bitter at the hoarders.

To those saying I’m a big baby, that’s fine. You may be right. I’m only angry at the hoarders, which I still maintain is silly and pointless.

To those saying I would hate the watch world, I guess I already do.

I already know I’m the *******, so you don’t have to tell me. I’m the big baby blah blah haha. It’s fine. My endgame in the world of guitar pedals was always to eventually after pedals that aren’t available then get pissed when I can’t get one “like a child.”

i hope each of you enjoy your tRaDeBaiT. Sounds like true art.

I have yet to see much evidence of any 'hoarders' of IE pedals. I know that some were buying on spec and flipping for vastly increased prices but a few people having dup pedals doesn't qualify as someone trying to corner the market.

I know it's frustrating to really want something then it goes faster than you can move...but it's not because TBers are buying 2/3/4 at a time.

Page 114 is where I first heard of it and started getting sour. That person that posted about backups was just stating an idea but it's where I started to think this is not a world I want to be in. When the FM dropped and everyone jumped on them for "tradebait" I really lost hope. Especially since Taylor has made it clear he doesn't have the parts to make more, which is unfortunate for everyone.

Bro, crazy thought, but some people actually use the pedals.

I I haven't seen a single post about anyone owning 2 of the same Iron Ether pedal at the same in a long time...

This place is literally the best resource to score Iron Ether pedals. Perhaps putting it out there that you're interested in buying should a new owner not bond with the FM would help you a lot more than whatever it is you think you're accomplishing by OwNInG tHe HoArDErs...

Hopefully you find one so you can put it on your pedaltrain in your basement..

Someone made an off hand comment about buying a second one, maybe as a backup? I had to read through that page about 3 times before I could even figure what you're talking about. Sorry, but you getting sour because someone wanted a duplicate pedal is a bit 'sensitive'. Count the dudes with duplicate basses and amps around here. Not surprising someone would have a couple of the same pedal.

Here's all the posts from when it hit this thread that the FM was available to when it sold out. Please point out all these 'trade bait' comments to us.

FMeron in stock on the website

That email alert is fire! Scored one. Maybe I'll get along with it better this time.

ordered. sooo excited

Just ordered one myself. I always loved the sound of that pedal.

Decisions, decisions. I was thinking of getting an EUB. Hard to resist an Iron Ether I am wanting though....

This is your in stock moment. After this there will only be regrets.

It looks pretty sweet as well

And gone!

Snagged one! I always regretted letting mine go. Now I get one with an even cooler finish!

...and now that in stock moment is over.

In response, if anyone doesn't bond with their FMeron, please DM me. I'm on the hunt. Thanks

I don't see a problem with owning backups of hard to get pedals. I love my IE pedals (and Broughtons also). Both are hard to get, and for all intensive porpoises may as well be considered one -offs as they are only released on limited quantities.

As a result I've given second thought to taking mine out of the house for gigs and have many times thought about buying duplicates of some of the ones I would like to use when playing out in order to build a second pedal board for gigs, but financially thats just a silly move for me and fortunately most of the stuff I play out on gigs does not really call for pedals, they would just be a nice to have item.

For those questioning and criticizing others for owning dupes, just this weekend a local musician lost a lot of gear including a box containing his effects. They traveled 80 miles from their gig to their home, and arrived home to discover that at some point their box of effects along with other stuff "fell out" of their vehicle. Not sure how that could really happen, but it sounds like it may have been an SUV or hatchback and the rear door to the cargo area wasn't closed securely.
