This argument is so idiotic. We all know that anyone is entitled to a second or backup pedal if they want one. How did we let this troll try to ruin the thread?! Can someone please post a picture of their board or IE pedal so we can move on from this little hiccup?

My latest picture. It is missing my new Azure Drive....

I was just looking through my old pedal board photos...so many different configurations along the way.

Here's one with 2 verbs, 2 compressors, 2 envelope filters.

And here's a much smaller one with stuff labeled along with the signal paths.

Two delays, two synths, two envelopes, no verbs.

Here's what ended up sticking:

I have a doubt regarding Oxide.
so first let me share 2 setups for the Oxide that I find to work well.

Both setups are used with Distortion and EQ knob at its MAX
1) I was used to using Oxide with the Morph knob close to a minimum so the sound, making the gate more "binary" (there was a fixed fuzz harsh and broken sounding when the gate was OPEN, and nothing when the gate was close)

This is what I thought a gated fuzz was intended to sound like. The only disadvantage I found is that the income signal has to be very loud to open the gate.

2) Recently, I found how amazingly well Oxide works with the Morph knob with a volume pedal before going from 0% volume to 100% and vice versa, like "swelling in and out the signal".

the outcome is a "Filtered Fuzz Swell".Like, while the sounds open and close it has a filter in it. what makes me think..." it´s that what it intended to happen with every other gated fuzz or Oxide is something else"

so just wonder how other people are using this pedal... do you have by chance different setups that I could try? Thanks!

The tuner, Octabvre, Pog, FMeron, and then the XD.

Then the chain just goes to Doom2 - VT - 250 - PH-2 - Polytope - Echosystem - RC-5. Lol there’s probably a much better way to fit everything but it was thrown together rather quickly.
Interesting that you have your dirt after the XD... is it set up to use with the expression pedal? Nice board and hawt Mustang, by the way

EDIT: just saw the same question asked and answered above

I think I may have mentioned something about a pedal for a backup on page 114.....

First off. If anything I said has upset you or caused you any unpleasantness I wholeheartedly apologize. I am on here to share my love of these amazing pedals the wonderful Mr Livingston has graced this world with. They are unique and worth the fight.

For the record my current (and only) Oxide has a broken clean blend knob on it. So maybe saying I am searching for a "backup" may not be the most accurate way of saying it. I am probably searching just for a good one for the time this one kicks the bucket.

Second I don't see the issue of having a backup for a hard to get pedal anyways. If it breaks I can't get one on short notice if I need it so a backup just seems sensible.

Third. The Oxide is literally the only pedal I have seriously considered having a second for because the sounds can be so different on one lovely pedal. I would love to have one for my heavy gated fuzz sounds and one set for my muff like fuzz sounds. Can't exactly bend over and fiddle knobs mid song or gig right?

However saying that everytime I think of buying a second I think of all other great pedals out there I have not tried yet. I cant buy a second Oxide till I have a tried an MBD-2 right?

Then of course the dreams of running 2 Oxides in parallel. Or stacked.

Anyways, I hope this may have helped salve any hurt feelings or misunderstandings that may have occurred here. That is never my intention. Just the joy and love of Taylor's amazing worldclass super pedals that everybody wants. I feel lucky and happy that I have been able to have the ones I have.

The world is a better place with Iron Ether around.

P.s. good luck on scoring an FMeron someday

Edits for spelling and grammar
Don't apologize to that baby, you did nothing wrong

Hi guys, as karma would have it my subterranea **** the bed tonight. Right as I listed it, I went to test the pedal and suddenly after messing with the synth section the timbre and tracking changed. Very strange, Taylor already did a mod on it for me. Any ideas?

Guys, it's me again. I understand that I am a terrible person, you are all correct. But hear me out on this. How does someone obtain an Iron Ether pedal? How does someone own their first IE pedal when it's so difficult to get them from the site (no shade at Taylor, who I understand is cranking them out as quick as possible) but when used pedals come available they are trade-only for other IE pedals? It feels like if you are one of the handful of dudes in this thread that own a half dozen already, you can try out new IE pedals. If you aren't one of those guys, then buzz off and have fun praying to the reverb gods 500 dollars a pop. You feel? Like, that's what I'm frustrated with. Trade only? What happened to all of the gushing about how we're a community here that just loves sharing great pedals? I'll take all the name calling you can throw at me. It breaks up the boredom of a day in corporate america.

The 'shop' on the IE site has always been 'thin'. Even well before the pandemic screwed the supply chains. Yet somehow I've gotten: Xerograph Deluxe (from site), Divaricator (from site), Nimbus SE (from site), Polytope (used Reverb), Arcing Prisms (from site), Dubterranea (from site) over the years. How? I signed up for the email list for when they were released. I also follow IE on Facebook and have it set to the 'always show' setting. That way if I don't see it in my email, I'll probably see it there. Even so, they didn't last more than a day or so for sale, usually only a morning or whatever.

It wasn't that onerous, and I'm someone who doesn't even bother with Broughton and that 'friday morning drop' thing where there's like 10 pedals and they're gone in 3 minutes.

...In the meantime while we've ben discussing this I've sold two Iron Ether pedals right here in this thread to enterprising IE fans...and not for 500$ a pop either. I mentioned I was thinking of clearing a few things out and had emails from a number of people within minutes and the two pedals sold within a couple days. So, I dunno what to tell you.

Sign up for the emails through Taylor. When you get an email, take a moment to click the link and buy the pedal. That's literally all I've ever done. Maybe set up an alert on your phone so that IE comes up as an important contact and you get an immediate notification when you get an email so that you see it right off if you don't check your email regularly.

I understand how it works. I have the email notifications. Unfortunately I was at work and couldn't be buying pedals when I got the email, and two hours later they were sold out. It's clear that however many pedals are created with each batch, (a dozen? 2 dozen maybe?) there are more buyers than number of pedals available. You have to admit that you have a level of luck with all those pedals you obtained through the site. It's perfectly fine, but you have be absolutely completely available in those 45 minutes. That's the game and I understand.

I mentioned I was thinking of clearing a few things out and had emails from a number of people within minutes and the two pedals sold within a couple days.
Why not just list them? Also I saw your post. You weren't selling any FMerons if I remember correctly so I didn't reach out. I'm loathed here anyway so it's pointless by now.

I'm still speaking to the trade only deals. It seems to have increased lately and I'm just calling it out. The community aspect is an illusion. People like to find ways to feel special. It's why fraternities are a thing. The fact is you all are in a club, IE owners, and my only way to get an FMeron was to be available in that exact one hour window this week and now there won't be another batch for years, it seems, given the component shortages. There are handful of people in here that don't want their FMerons anymore but they will only send them out to other IE owners. I get you are allowed to do what you want and it's up to the owner and all that. I just think it's hypocritical to boast about how this is a community that shares its love of these instruments.

I am doing all of the things you listed to be ready to buy, but that fact is almost every opportunity involves trading another IE pedal. So it's really tough.

I genuinely don't want this to go on forever I just sorta want one person to acknowledge it. It's a club, and that's fine. I'm not in the club, and if I wanna get into the club, well I have to be IN the club. I'll go back to my diapers and bottles now :)
