Iron Ether Appreciation Society

And no # for me. :scowl: I'll keep this short - but clubs really ruined talkbass for me. they keep me out of the "bass" forum, practically every thread is a club... kind of why I like the effects section (more info, less clubs).

Yeah, I have no interest in this becoming a club and since it's MY thread (;)) I say we just keep it as a group hug for Mr. Livingston without the formality of memberships or numbers etc.

I really respect and appreciate Taylor’s approach to new and unique effect designs. VERY refreshing!! It is also great to hear that he has some talented help that share in his vision.

The other thing that Taylor excels at is being able to take the scientific and engineering language and translate it into a conversation that everyone can understand. This is not always an easy thing to do. I have seen him do this several times here on TB and have always admired him for his efforts.

I truly wish him a very successful future.

This post me thinking: Dear lord what would Taylor do if he directed his creativity towards an octave pedal....

I think everyone here knows how I feel about Taylor and the entire IE team.

Xerograph is my favorite pedal ever, followed closely by Frantabit, Oxide and Nimbus. I am continually inspired by the amazing sounds they produce. I am soooo happy I found Iron Ether and that other likeminded people are catching on to what is happening on the small (ish) pedal builder scene. Hopefully the sounds that I create with these will motivate others to check out IE and share their sounds with us. Thanks, Jared, for giving us an outlet to show our appreciation and love...

.... what I love most about IE is that they are really bringing some fresh ideas to the table.

gawd, i'm SO with you there bubbles! he just crushes everything he's attacked so far. i havna tried out a Nimbus, but that time's a comin' soon i think. but everything else? pffffffffff. Oxide is like All The Synth Tones Base Are Belong To Us, Xero just wobbles and slays, the Franta is INSANELY useful to noisy boom stickin's.

lurv the man, lurv the pedz.

but no number if you're doing that please. i'm way too hip and unique of a snowflake to belong to a CLUB.

his name was Robert Paulson.

Taylor's makes some of the most interesting stuff out there and has fantastic customer service. I need to create some sort of wormhole in space so I can fit more of his stuff on my board.

They don't make bigger slant racks though, which is what I use for a board :(

He could just take an OC-2 and attach a honking clown nose to the OCT 2 knob and it would immediately be more useful.

So, get a second one...one on each side of the mic stand :D

Yeah, admittedly I have to agree. I would love to see him work an Octron 2 type design (Octron is the best analog octaver I have ever owned) and see what his slant would be. It seems it would fit his pedal line nicely, especially in building synth chains.

i have been really interested with Iron Ether stuff ever since i started reading threads about it. the fuzz i am using now is a Prescription Electronics Depth Charge, because i read from JmJ that Trent used it on that radio recording of Reptile... but if i read about the Oxide and heard its sample clips at the same time, i might have gone with the Oxide ...

right now i am really interested in a Xerograph Deluxe, i didn't PM fast enough and thus, did not get the one in the classifieds :( i am hoping i could get one soon ... i'd like to order directly from the store, but i have had a few bad experiences ordering from them, and going through all the red tape, that it made more sense waiting for a used one to show up.

someday, i see myself owning at least 3 IE pedals ... oxide, xerograph and cygnet (which ill put in the guitar pedal board).

and if Taylor makes a Synth pedal ... i am so there.

I haven't gotten an IE pedal yet, but I have contacted Taylor and he's fast with the responses and helpful. I can't wait to get the Xero Deluxe, Oxide, and Cygnet 2. I love being able to contact the person that actually works on the equipment. :bassist:

I'm still amazed at how great the service from IE/Taylor is...totally accessible to his customers which scores MASSIVE points. That alone is a really good reason to check his stuff out. Also, it sounds phucking great. Franta Bit is still my new favorite effect...and I've had it for like 2 months now.

I do know there's some sort of Tetravox in the works (chorusy sounds sans wobbles, which is a dream come true for me), and I think he hinted at something octavey sometime ago?

Oh, what the future holds. I nag him to make a delay, too, but I gotta come up with features I like most. But I reeeally wish he would. I'm a delay ho, tho, fo sho.

Taylor is da man!

I have 4 of his pedals and luff em all!
I really think Taylor has played such a massive part in the recent revoloution of bass fx pedals. Prolly the leader IMHO!

The Xero has to be the best bass filter of all time. It's awesomeness is unparalleled!
I enjoy all of the other IE pedals i have so much too!
Always, so much win!

Taylor is an absolute pleasure to deal with too. Communicative, upfront, friendly, informative and all-around-good-guy!

And yes, I like the idea of a collective group hug for the man and his pedals rather than a club anyday.

Bravo!
