Thanks to Taylor and IE team (including significant other).
TB reviews (and 25$ off) pushed me to go after a xerograph deluxe last month. I wanted something different from my other filter pedal; the xerograph was it. It is nice to see Taylor (and other builders) coming with new ideas on effects; especially for us often neglected bass players. Taylor was quick to respond to questions and sent me an email at 5:30 in the morning to tell me my pedal had shipped. Dude again, get some sleep.

I definitely like supporting companies that care about their customers. I'm really looking forward to the Nimbus and the Xerograph Deluxe. I have the Source Audio BEF Pro and although I love what it does, I definitely miss what it can't do.

Taylor is the man. I've been enjoying my Oxide immensely as it's helped me pull loads of riffs outta my subconscious.

Just ordered a Xerograph Deluxe.....I couldn't stand any more of this talk about how incredible of a filter it is.

Yeah, I love the tone Trent gets on that song. And the Depth Charge is a great fuzz. I haven't had one in years so I can't do an actual A/B but I have been able to set the Oxide to get tones pretty much exactly like I remember the Depth Charge sounding. Since the Depth Charge is closely based on the Brassmaster and the Oxide is too to a certain extent, it makes sense that they'd cover similar ground. The advantage of the Oxide is all the other tones that you can dial up.

When you say "store" are you talking about a retailer or ordering through Taylor's site? Iron Ether (at least right now) just sells direct.

Yeah the GR2 is amazing. I'm really looking forward to getting the Xerograph and you can be sure that I will be comparing it to the GR2. They are different pedals from the design to the execution, but I'm really excited about the possibilities of the XD:D

You have to be careful with filters! They all do different things. Soon enough you'll have 10 different filters because none of them act the same way:D

you are definitely right about the Depth Charge... while it is a great fuzz pedal, i notice that it is a one trick pony, a very good one trick pony and i use it for a lot of our songs (cover and origs), but you really can't get a different voice out of it.

im thinking of a set up where i just plug the Depth Charge and the Wah on a looper and have them turn on the same time (because that combination really kills), while i get an Iron Oxide for my main fuzz tone... apart from the Depth Charge, the only fuzz that impresses me right now is the IE Oxide.

oh wait, there's also the Chunk Systems Brown Dog but i don't want to deal with the footprint.

i recently won a 3 Leaf Audio GR (not the one with a "2") on ebay for a hundred bucks, so i guess my getting the Xerograph would be delayed till next month.

the only factor that did not make me jump at the XD right away was the price ... but oh well, good pedals definitely deserve to be in that price range - its actually fair, compared to a lot of stuff that are more expensive and don't even come close to the value.

RE store:

i did not mean Taylor's store ... but web stores in general ... i dont want to name names, but oh well, they are stores that sell both basses and pedals.

i also notice that they overcharge me for shipping ... i certainly got traumatized with that. it happened more than once.

them stores are also not flexible with shipping or the way i send money. just remembering my experiences with "stores" is enough to get me scared with ordering again.

they usually say things like "we will only ship to the address written on your paypal and we will only do it via Fed Ex" - after which you'd find out the stuff you paid for shipping was enough to get you another pedal.

this is not even including that fact that you have to sign up to their store, typing your address, and then clicking on a verification link. those really turn me off. i dont want to give away those information as much as possible.

but hey, with the way Taylor runs things, it just might be like buying something off the classifieds - good communication and fast update.

When I bought my pedals I was charged 5 dollars shipping. Taylor emailed me to thank me for the order, gave me an ETA to my pedals shipping, and refunded my 5 bucks. Excellent customer service and FWIW, I think 5 bucks for shipping is more than reasonable.

Iron Ether makes ridiculously awesome pedals. Taylor is my god damn hero of customer service and great designs.

I have a Xerograph Deluxe and an Oxide. Will get a Frantabit someday. It will rule my face right the hell off, I just know it.

well, I drank the koolaid. Ordered a Xerograph Deluxe and Oxide. I've gone through a number of env pedals and want one to rule them all that still has a small footprint. I should be able to fit everything I want on my micro board (the above, sonic tuner, Pwnzor comp, micro pog and RC2). On thing I'd like to change would be to an octave pedal with top mount jacks...then I know everything would fit.

Glad to see an IE facebook page up and running!

I still use the Xerograph deluxe on just about every track I record (up to 20 a day). There are so many uses once you begin to understand how each parameter works individually as well as how they are affected by each other. From subtle tone shaping to bubble-funk, to all out synth warfare...LOVE IT!!!
